Rain ~ Summit Snow ~ Shear Perfection ~ Lunch At Musashi ~ Jim Forbus ~ Tamale

Sorry to be so late today. Been having phone problems and then the modem went out. The phone company guy, Greg, was here at 8:45. He just left (9:45) and fixed everything. Found a broken line. He amazed me. Super efficient and super nice. So, back in business!!!

Good 37º drizzling snow on my mountain morning.
Rain continued from Monday night mostly drizzling light rain on and off all day and then some hard rain last night. Another 3/4" of the wet stuff....

Not a good day to drive south from here or north from Ca... our Siskiyou summit is looking pretty forbidding...

Yesterday was haircut day with my fav gal Leah.....

Lots of fun chatting while she worked on my hair. She told me about a cauliflower recipe that absolutely made me drool. She promised it email it to me so I can share.
Next was lunch at Musashi ( http://musashisushi.com/ ) in Grants Pass with Jennifer and Mike, and Micol and Bob.

National Pfeffernüsse Day

PFEFFERNÜSSE or PFEFFERNUESSE

Pfeffernüsse (pronounced FEH-fehr-NEE-suh—the word means “pepper nuts”) are hard, spicy cookies, often dunked in wine during a visit (think of a tea party with wine). The “nuts” refer to the nut-like hardness of the cookie; there are no nuts in the recipe, which includes gingerbread spices (anise, cloves, nutmeg), pepper and citron. The black pepper adds to the spiciness without adding heat. Here’s a recipe.
