Zack's Frozen Water ~ Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies


Good 25º foggy morning. As PJ would say "Globalwarmingmyass Al Gore!" Sheesh. Been chilly lately. No let up in sight.
 
Even down in Apple Valley Linda said her pup's water dish was frozen! Zack was breaking up the ice with his paw....

Several people I know having birthdays today... Paul Harper
(played in the Wild Bunch...an LASD Reserve .. died 2009. movie studio paid him $20,000 to have all his teeth pulled for the movie!) It's also Sally Harwell's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SALLY! Sally was a Marine and also in the same LASD Academy class as Jerry. My friend Lessie over in Chico is celebrating and so is Joan's husband, Fred, out in Palm Desert while Joan is in the hospital having had hip replacement surgery. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRED! And lastly a great nephew Daniel, born in 1983. MY GOSH, he's nearly 30!!! Whoppen?

December 8th
National Chocolate Brownie Day
(But... I like mine with peanut butter !)


 
 
 
 
Brownies:
1/3 cup butter
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
2/3 cup flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 t. vanilla

Topping:
1/3 cup peanut butter
2 T. butter
2 T. Sugar
1 T. Flour
1 egg

Melt butter and chocolate together. Set aside to cool.
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together in small bowl.
I large mixing bowl beat the eggs and sugar together until light. Add vanilla. Stir in flour mixture and the cooled chocolate mixture. Pour into greased 8x8 pan.

Topping:
Beat all ingredients until smooth. Drop by spoonfuls over the brownie mixture, running a knife through the cake to marble. Bake 350º 20-25 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares.
