~ Neko ~ Tigger ~ Pasta with Leeks ~ Police Memorial Day ~

Good 43º morning. The 80% "chance" of rain last night turned into 100%. We got over 1/4". Looks like more today also.

So, I went to town yesterday and got my hair cut. Had a fun chat with Leah, my hair person. She is a lot of fun. Then went to Ace because they were having a huge Purina Dog Food promotion. They had a petting zoo and Leah's daughter Marley

was there helping out. They had rabbits, a black and white rat who was Steve and a girl rat, a turkey hen (Dorrie's and she could pet her!), baby goats, baby chicks, and baby ducks. All darling. Well, except for the turkey hen. They are just not attractive.

Then to the new little produce stand in town and got a lime for cocktail time. Hey!! 'I'll make a rhyme about a lime for cocktail time!' Taaa daaa... And I got some asparagus. Geesh, that doesn't rhyme with anything. Oh wait, 'Asparagus slides down your esophagus.   :o( Sorry. Hard word to rhyme.

PJ and Dave sent this picture of their Neko. She crawls into a pillowcase and does a u-turn and then peeks out the opening...

Now, my Tigger (T-I-Double Gaaa-R) when she was young (this is about 1976 or 77) she would crawl into the still warm dryer after I had removed the clothes ...

The eagles look like they are getting big enough to fly now...
Mama still keeps a close eye on them....

Maggie and I took a ride up to Patty and Cliff's and had cocktails and chatted for a bit. Came home and I had some leeks in the fridge so dug out some whole wheat angel hair pasta, Philadelphia Italian Cooking Sauce, chopped the leeks, some red bell pepper, drained canned sliced mushrooms, chopped asparagus, sliced radishes, and added grape tomatoes to the fray.

Cooked the pasta. All the veggies went into a large pan with melted butter and olive oil. Cooked til tender and added the cooking sauce and the pasta.

The Philadelphia cooking sauce is great! Very tasty. Think I'll have some leftovers for breakfast! You could also leave out the sauce and just toss the veggies with the pasta.

.. and by the way, just for my pal Judy, the leek is the national symbol of Wales.

We had a snuggy fire, the rain had just started, and I watched the sad ending to the Dodger/Diamondback's game. 1 to zip! Aarughhhh......
