Sunset ~ Artoff Plumbing ~ Apple Pie Breakfast Bake ~ Roadrunner ~ Bruiser ~ Dude

Good 38º foggy morning.

The sunset yesterday .... 5:30pm

The joys of buying an old house. This one has had plumbing problems from just about day 1. I have to get my plumber out here at least twice a year to unclog the kitchen sink. I don't put that much down the garbage disposal, but it still clogs up and backs up into the other side. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Did that Thursday night so called the plumber first thing yesterday morning. Had to hang up any plans I had for the day. Mike said he'd get here "sometime" during the day. He had a long day and didn't get here til after 4pm. At least the sink is fixed! Yeah. Mike is coming back Monday to put a filter in the pump house and fix a faucet.

Here is a yummy easy Apple Pie Breakfast Bake:

2 cans refrigerated crusty French loaf
1 cup butter, melted
1 can (21 oz) apple pie filling
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 t. apple pie spice
1 t. vanilla
1 cup maple syrup, warmed

1. Heat oven to 350º. Bake loaves as directed on can, cool 20 minutes. (Or cook the night before) Cut about 1½ of the French loaves into ½" cubes, to make 7½ cups. Reserve remaining ½ loaf for another use. Increase oven temp to 375º.
2. In 13x9-inch glass baking dish, evenly layer melted butter, apple filling, and bread cubes.
3. In medium bowl, stir in condensed milk, apple pie spice, and vanilla until well blended. Pour over bread, pushing bread down to absorb the liquid.
4. Bake 25-35 minutes until deep golden brown and bubbly. Cool 15 minutes. Serve with warm syrup.

Got this from Patty... had to share...
Last night I was driving and listening to a call-in program on WGN in Chicago. People were calling in, very upset, about the goat's head sent to Cubs owner Tom Ricketts at Wrigley Field. Then come guy called from Indiana and said, "Why are you people so upset 'cause someone sent a goat's head to Wrigley Field? Aren't you Chicagoans the same guys who sent a horse's ass to the White House?"

I laughed so hard I almost ran off the road!

THE WHOLE NINE YARDS
American fighter planes in WW2 had machine guns that were fed by a belt
of cartridges. The average plane held belts that were 27 feet (9 yards)
long. If the pilot used up all his ammo he was said to have given it the
whole nine yards.
