Burrrrr.... ~ Grants Pass Steam Laundry ~ Elks ~ Garlic Day

Good 27º morning. It was 24º when I got up at 6am. The moon was full last night and the sky was clear. Burrrrr.... I was up briefly about 2am and the moon was shining through the windows. Beautiful. Too sleepy for photos!
But this morning all four of my geese were out there so I took out corn and they were happy.... No turkeys around. Too cold for them I guess!

Yesterday was fun. I left here and did some errands. I picked up my new shiny black mud flaps for my truck from Roe Motors. Pete had forgotten about my order, but redeemed himself! Then I stopped in Brian's office, before stopping at Chet's Nursery to shop. Then to meet Jeannie and Candy at Hannah's for wine at 2. I had gone into some of the local stores, finding some interesting things. One of which I'll show you Monday, since it's a gift for someone .... And all the shop keepers I came in contact with had the same things to say about Hannah's. Sadly. All said the food was mediocre to poor, the service was horribly slow, and the prices were too high. Darn.

The building, an old laundry... neat.

The interior is really beautiful and nicely preserved.

So as I walked around (not one person came to the front desk) looking for the bar.... Ah ha... camera ready and Jeannie saw the camera and jumped out of the way! LOL You can see her leg...

We enjoyed a chat and wine for a couple of hours.

Billy had dropped Jeannie off and Bob, Candy... and then the men went to the Elks to wait it out. I drove the girls over there and both of the guys had their pooches in their vehicles. We first visited with Baron...
He was kissy happy to see his mom. Sweet dog!
Then Chaka....

.... who also wanted to show her mom how much she loved her...

Even I got some doggie smooches!

We sat in the Elks for a bit and had some libations. Candy decided  to try some pickled egg. Don't know if she liked it or not, but her face does tell some of the story...

 As Billy watches the process.

Of course since I had my camera, Bob gave me a bad time and wouldn't pose!

April 19th
National Garlic Day

Cut off the top of the bulb, set it in some foil, sprinkle on some sea salt and black pepper, and drizzle on a tiny bit of olive oil. Wrap foil around bulbs and bake at 400º for 30-35 min. Squeeze out the garlic when cool to the touch and spread it on sourdough or French bread toast ... or mix it into mashed potatoes... or  mix with sour cream and top baked potatoes!  Oh my Good!
