Hellgate Jetboat Ride ~ Air Fryer Dinner

Good 55º clear sunny morning.  Yesterday we climbed to 95º.

Yesterday morning, at 9am, I met Brian Jen Sami Tucker and Jack in Grants Pass at the Hellgate Jetboat Ride.

We were signed up for the lunch trip on the Rogue River which included 3½ hour, 36 mile round trip through Hellgate Canyon (where parts of Rooster Cogburn and River Wild were filmed), and an all you can eat lunch at the OK Corral, that overlooks the river

that included, lemonade, water, ice tea, green salad, rolls,
cornbread, barbecued chicken, potato salad, and a Marionberry cobbler (apropos since it was my sister Marion's birthday!)

They had a bar and some over the top awesome looking Bloody Marys; celery, green onion, carrot, olives, and bacon! I had a Chardonnay.
On the boat ride we saw deer, osprey, and bald eagles! We also got soaked with water from the boat spinning (purposely) in the water.

The boat drivers, ours was Johnny,

are skilled and licensed by the Coast Guard. They are professional and don't put the passengers in danger. Johnny was so informative about the river, the wildlife, and very funny! He's been doing this for over 20 years. There was a lot of water coming over the boat (front and both sides) and laughing and screaming! Brian said to bring a towel, good thing! It helped. I also put my camera in a zip lock bag!

Here is one of the bald eagles we saw...

A great adventure. If you come to Southern Oregon you MUST go on this, for sure. If you let me know, I would love to go with you! The trips are summer only from June to September. I can't believe I have lived here 19 years and this was my first Rogue River boat ride!
More pictures later, possibly a Smilbox.

July 15th
National Tapioca Pudding Day

  • Tapioca pudding (similar to sago pudding) is a sweet pudding made with tapioca and either milk or cream.
  • Coconut milk is also used in cases in which the flavor is preferred or in areas in which it is a commonplace ingredient for cooking.
  • It is made in many cultures with equally varying styles, and may be produced in a variety of ways. Its consistency ranges from thin (runny), to thick, to firm enough to eat with a fork.
  • The pudding can be made from scratch using tapioca in a variety of forms: flakes, coarse meal, sticks, and pearls. Many commercial packaged mixes are also available.
  • British schoolchildren have traditionally nicknamed the dish frog spawn, due to its appearance. American children often call it fish eyes and glue.
