24º-Dorner-60 Fwy Crash ~ Warmest Socks ~ Sue's Polish Noodles ~ Turk ~ Beverage Holder ~ ICKY High Ono

Good 45º cloudy morning. Rain supposedly coming back in a couple of days.

A year ago today it was 24º and that crazy guy Christopher Dorner, former LAPD, was on a killing spree... Then on the news last night they talked about the wrong way drunk 21 year old female that caused the death of 6 people on the 60 Fwy at Diamond Bar...... Horrific! The freeway was closed down for 8 hours! One of the dead was the subject's sister.

Yesterday the sun did come out for a short time. Nice. Then it got cloudy again. Warmed to 58º.

My pal Linda told me about these socks... called Heat Holders... They come in men's and women's sizes and colors. Just what you folks need in those snowy places!!!

Here is a favorite simple side dish recipe of mine...
Sue's Polish Noodles

small onion
4 cups shredded cabbage
8oz pkg egg noodles
1 T. caraway seed
Salt Pepper
1/2 cup sour cream

Chop onion and sauté in butter. Add cabbage. Sauté. Cook noodles, drain, and add. Add caraway seed, salt pepper to taste and mix in sour cream, heat 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Voilá. If you like, mix in some cooked chopped bacon and/or sauteéd mushrooms. YUMMMMMY!

...and today is also the birthday of friend/computer guru Turk Dean. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TURK!

Yesterday I went to the road to take the trash... I had purchased this "adult beverage holder" a long time ago. Never used it and thought it would be fun to put my wine in. Well, the danged thing doesn't work any more and it also says to empty  the alcoholic beverages out of it every time it's used and rinse it out. Fuey. So I put it on top of my mailbox. Ha ha ha... someone will come along and take it...
You can dispense (supposedly) liquor from either nozzle.
Looking from the driveway up towards the road and the mailboxes. It won't be there today!!

Last night I watched most of the Beatles show. Interesting. Good music. It was "The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute To The Beatles" ... recorded January 27th and aired last night. They showed the debut performance by the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show 50 years ago. Yoko Ono was in the front row and she looked high on something. Weirdo! Indoors at night and wearing dark glasses. Can't stand her!!! Here she is with her son, Sean. Weirdo also!!

All I know. Happy Munday... Nuff said. Ciao.

Umbrella Day is in honor of one of the world's most invaluable inventions. On a rainy, day, we are sure glad that someone was smart enough to invent it. It's also increasingly popular to use umbrellas to shade ourselves from harmful UV radiation, and the heat of the sun. Umbrellas come in all sorts of sizes, colors, shapes, and, designs. Businesses and organizations use them for advertising. The smallest umbrellas fit inside a purse or glove compartment. Golf umbrellas are popular sizes. Then, there are lawn and beach umbrellas. There's one (or two) made just for you.
