Good cloudy morning. We started at 39º and then dropped to 38º.

Yesterday we had some sun..................

Then in the afternoon we started getting a lot of pouring rain.

We topped at 72º.

Interesting about an aunt..........

An aunt is a woman who is a sibling of a parent or married to a sibling of a parent. Aunts who are related by birth are second-degree relatives. Alternate terms include auntie or aunty. Children in other cultures and families may refer to the cousins of their parents as aunt or uncle due to the age and generation gap. The word comes from Latinamita via Old French ante and is a family relationship within an extended or immediate family.

The male counterpart of an aunt is an uncle, and the reciprocal relationship is that of a nephew or niece.

Aunts by birth (sister of a parent) are related to their nieces and nephews by 25%. As half-aunts are related through half-sisters, they are related by 12.5% to their nieces and nephews. Non-consanguineous aunts (female spouse of a relative) are not genetically related to their nieces and nephews.

Cultural variation

In some cultures, such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia, respected senior members of the community, often also referred to as Elders, are addressed as "uncle" (for men) and "aunt" for women, as a mark of seniority and respect, whether related or not, such as Aunty Kathy Mills.

Aunts in popular culture

Aunts in popular culture have not always been portrayed as positive roles. Childless aunts are often subjected to othering in popular culture and presented as exotic or as having a second-best role, with motherhood preferred.

Fictional aunts include:

Aunt Flo is a popular euphemism referring to the menstrual cycle.

An agony aunt is a colloquial term for a female advice columnist.

I had leftover Honey Baked ham.... pre-made crusts... lined the bottom with provolone cheese. In the mixer put 3 eggs, about 1 cup of Greek plain yogurt, 8oz of cream cheese, about a cup of grated yellow and white cheese, some Parmesan cheese, and mixed it all together. Stirred in ham. Poured it into the crust. Topped with more provolone and the top crust. Baked 1hr 10 min at 350º. OMGOOOOD!!!!

I will make this again, adding in spinach ..maybe broccoli... sauteed onion/peppers, mozzarella cheese instead of provolone, ricotta, tomatoes, artichoke hearts......... drooling at the possibilities!

All I know. Nuff said. Have a good Tuesday. Ciao.

April 11 is National Pet Day.  While loving our pets is something we do every day, National Pet Day encourages us to pay special attention to pets who may not get that extra attention.  Helping out orphaned pet companions will improve their health and enhance their opportunities for adoption.
Sometimes their human companions aren’t well.  Making sure their forever furry friends are receiving the best of care will help relieve stress and worry.
National Pet Day is an excellent time to do a few checks for your pets.
  • Go through your forever family member’s toys. Throw away any items that are no longer safe.
  • Maintain your pet-friendly home. Keep cords and toxins secure from your four-legged friends. This includes phone chargers.
  • Verify when vaccinations are due and schedule an appointment to update if they are due.
  • Check collars to ensure tags are secure and numbers are current. We sometimes forget to update this information when we move or change numbers.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Take supplies to those pets in shelters.  Help a friend with pets who is recovering from an illness.  Adopt a pet.
