Good 45º foggy drizzly morning. Got rain starting yesterday
afternoon through the night. Not a lot... only about 1/8"... very unlike the
deluge they got in California!
Here is a favorite snack of mine with coffee... a rice cake, slathered with
peanut butter, and Laney Blueberry Blossom honey! (www.laneyhoney.com )
A "Cooperism" from my friend Vivia back in NY...
I went to a seafood disco last week and pulled a
muscle.

Yesterday I made the 'concoction' I was talking about...
First I cooked some broccoli in a bit of water with garlic salt..
Then I cooked the gnocchi in the same water using a little more garlic
salt. Cook til they float.
Drain both.
Next, in the same pan I emptied out the water and added in some olive oil
and cooked some mushrooms whole until they were well browned.
First in the casserole was the broccoli, then the gnocchi..
Next in was cut up turkey and add the mushrooms.
All of that drizzled well with Julie's Mushroom Olive Oil..
Then I heated the turkey gravy and poured that over all. Adding a topping
of Parmesan cheese...
Next Mozzarella cheese....
Lastly a Mexican cheese blend....
Cooked slow at 275º for a couple hours. PERFECT!
OMGOOOOOOD!!!! Best casserole ever!

An interesting blog about being thankful..
Today
is National Roof Over Your Head Day. It is a day of appreciation for the
things we have, starting with the roof over our heads.
For
most of us, a roof over our head signifies living in a house that protects us
from the elements, keeping us warm, dry, and cozy. Unfortunately, not everyone
is as lucky as you and I. There are many homeless people right here in our
country. Some people live in a cardboard box on the street...... literally.
There are millions of people around the world who live in poverty or disaster
areas, and do not have a home to keep them comfortable and safe.
Spend
a few minutes being thankful that you are not homeless, and appreciating your
roof and home today. Also make a contribution to a homeless shelter, so others
can come in out of the rain.
Happy
National Roof Over Your Head
Day!
