Hospital Crazies ~ Cinnamon Whiskey ~ Mary Jane ~ Tom ~ Ham-Cheese Pie ~ Cheese Fondue

Good 34º foggy morning. We hit the mid 60º's yesterday. Linda in Woodland (north of Sacramento) said it was 82º there! We had rain yesterday too.

Yesterday I spent and inordinate amount of time just getting a blood test.
The hospital has installed a whole new computer system and there were 'computer people' everywhere in the building! Normally the gal at the Lab desk would fill out the computer form, now the tech has to do it as well as take your blood. OMG. Took FOREVER! Feel sorry for those who have to learn a whole new thing, just to do their job. They are frustrated. BUT, the strangest thing was this old guy (I know, I know, I'm old too!) came over and sat down next to me after the woman he came in with went into the lab. He was a chatter box! About everything. Then this "lobby greeter", nice lady, stopped and said she loved my sweatshirt....

Her grandson is now a Capt in the Marine Corps. So then this old guy said look what I can do... and he laid down on the cement floor and started doing sit ups!!! Just then the tech called my name and had that look of astonishment on his face! WIERD! You just never know.......................

On the way home I stopped at the liquor store. While we were at Shenanigans the other day the bartender, Dawn, let us all try some Cinnamon Whiskey. OMG. It was soooooooooo good. The kind she had is a Canadian brand called Fireball. The kind at the liquor store is Sinfire, made in Hood River, OR. I couldn't tell much difference. The whiskey is smooth and the cinnamon is ......

Apparently the Fireball is made in Canada and that company is suing the Hood River company over the names....... Come on people!

The conversation was going somewhere with my BFF a couple days ago and for some unknown reason I said something about a 'reefer'....having never smoked one, I don't recall how the comment started ...and BFF said I was 'dating' myself. LOL, yes, I guess that is a very old term, but anyway, then I started thinking how many different ways are there to say "marijuana cigarette" ? Some of you, I'm sure, know way more about this than I do but going to make a stab at it... weed, bud, dope, pot, herb, grass, joint, Mary Jane, doobie, Acapulco gold, Maui wowie, ganja, hash, hemp, loco weed, roach, tea, cannabis, bang. Bout all I can come up with. U?

Today's birthday boy is none other than the infamous Hollywood Hob-Nobber, Tom Flores. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMMY! I hope you have a GREAT day and lots of birthday fun!

The dinner I made the other night was a pie.... I had leftover Honey Baked ham.... pre-made crusts... lined the bottom with provolone cheese. In the mixer put 3 eggs, about 1 cup of Greek plain yogurt, 8oz of cream cheese, about a cup of grated yellow and white cheese, some Parmesan cheese, and mixed it all together. Stirred in ham. Poured it into the crust. Topped with more provolone and the top crust. Baked 1hr 10 min at 350º. OMGOOOOD!!!!

I will make this again, adding in spinach ..maybe broccoli... sauteed onion/peppers, mozzarella cheese instead of provalone, riccotta, tomatoes, artichoke hearts......... drooling at the possibilities!
