Reno Fire ~ Clayfolk ~ Mac & Cheese w/ Beef & Veggies ~ Peanut Butter Fudge

Good 33ยบ dry VERY foggy morning. No snow. Rained last night. Got 1/4" in last 24 hours.

The Reno fire was devastating, with 32 homes lost. I was relieved to know my nephew Jim and family were safe and a good distance from the fire as well as former LASD friend Jim Forbus... and they were a mile away~! Another friend, Jeanette Cleaves (former LASD and one of Jerry's partners) I haven't heard from. That's a worry.

Here is what my niece Melinda said:

We woke up to the phone ringing at 6:30 am - all schools were closed and boys HS was being used as a command center and evaluation shelter for the fire in SW Reno - what fire? Looked outside and could see or smell anything but wind was howling! We had 80 mile an hour gusts and steady gusts of 40 to 50 MPR. Embers blew within 5 miles of here but were pretty much blowing the other way. Keep a close eye all day just in case the winds changed. All is good and the boys got a day off. We were lucky! ox mel

More information:

PJ and Patty and I met up yesterday morning and headed to Medford to the National Guard Armory for the Clayfolk show. The snow had just about all melted by then and there was none in Medford. The artists in this show are amazing!

I LOVED the hanging fish!

This plate too cute... took picture for my grandson Jack:

And the dog faces....

This gal does amazing lizards and frogs:

Loved the bunny....

And the stilted birds....

After the show we headed to Red Robin for lunch. OMG, we each had a guacamole/bacon burger. OINK OINK.....

Dinner on Friday night .... whole grain rotini with cheese, ground beef, mushrooms, diced sweet potato, tomato, celery.....

Cook the diced sweet potato in the boiling water for a couple of minutes then add the rotini and cook per package directions (about 8 min). Drain. Cook the ground beef. Add all ingredients together and heat. Wonderful! Too full of the Red Robin burger for dinner last night. Had a little popcorn.
