Baby Duck ~ Doctor Visit ~ Shopping ~ Lousy Movie

Good 50º clear sunny morning. Stayed somewhat cooler yesterday. Inside the house it's 58º. Had windows open, nice for sleeping!, but Mr. Skunk was out there somewhere spreading his odiferous joy! So had to close up slider in the bedroom. DRAT. PJ and Dave had same problem a couple of nights ago.

Too cute for words.... baby duck feeds the Koi! Really!!!!

Yesterday the first order of the day was feed Maggie & Harley, shower, my blog, then off to the doc's. I have been coughing for the last two months. I normally cough anyway, since I have asthma (growing up in Los Angeles and the smog so thick you could cut it with a knife!), but this was as if I was fighting off something. Always a 'productive' cough. (I know. I know. ICK. AND, I HATE the word 'mucus'. GAG gag gag gag.....) I had allergy testing about 10 years ago and was told I wasn't allergic to anything. Doc said he wanted a chest x-ray.

Came back clear and fine. So, since we had sooooo much rain and everything has grown like on steroids and the pollen counts have been so high that they are off the charts. High count is like 100 and we've had 400+ ! He put me on Prednisone  ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prednisone ) for a couple of weeks and along with Singulair ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montelukast ) for a month. Said it should rapidly take care of my problem. First pills downed at 1pm yesterday. This morning... so far, so good. Minimal coughing. Yeah!

Doc was also pleased with my weight loss and BP is down. Yeah, again! He's leaving Providence and moving his office to Medford (from Central Point) and will be on Black Oak (across from Rogue Valley Hospital) in the Medford Medical Clinic. He's been at Providence 30 years and has 1500 patients. He wants to retire in 4-5 years and wants to be in a facility where he can recommend a larger group of doctors to his patients. Where he is now, there are only 7 other doctors.

OK, enough of this doctor thing... went to Target

from there and got some new (and old) coffees...

Archer Sea Salt Caramel, Dunkin' Cinnamon Spice, Keurig Kahlua (I take it out of the little cups... having some now. AWESOMELY good!), and Dunkin Toasted Almond. Mmmmmmmm mmmmmmm mmmm! Also got two movies (on sale)

So, I watched the "Morgans" movie last night. What a yawner. OMG, I could hardly stay awake .....

Even with Sam Elliott in it, bummer of a movie.

Then to Costco

for doggie dental chews, Milk Bones, broccoli flowerets, baby cucumbers, asparagus, and one of those Asian Rotisserie Chicken wraps.... SO GOOD!

Post Office for package retrieval and to mail letters. Pharmacy for drugs, man. Home. Hardest part was unloading the car.

So, we're sitting watching the news (Maggie Harley and I) and there is a horrible racket in the wood stove. There are a couple logs, some paper, and a couple candles. I knew it was a bird. I leave the flu open so they don't get trapped and die. I propped the front door open and the screen and opened the stove door. Out flew Mr. Bird. Trouble is he went towards the dining room. To the window sill...

So propped that door open and the screen and he, naturally, went to the living room. Back to the dining room and waving my arms he went out the door. WHEW............................. I didn't get his picture but I checked on the internet and the stories of people saving birds from their wood stoves is phenomenal! This is one of their pictures.

I was with Fabergé in the '80's and my awesome hair girl, Leah, asked me about Farrah and José Eber. Both were represented by our company and I took the following picture of Farrah while we were in Acapulco, in the ladies' room, primping.... 1984:

She was a very gentle person. Very shy. And you wanted to protect her. I'm only 5'4" but if I had put my arm around her shoulder it would have been very very low! She was so short.

Then José was fun! He was lively and a chatterbox. Next picture of Jerry, José, and I in 1985:

Oh la la... wasn't my Darling hunky!!!!! Mmmmm... miss him!
