Cold ~ Show-off Turkey ~ Cindy ~ Painted Photos

Good 30ยบ dark and very cloudy morning.

Yesterday... and today should be the same....

Well, I guess I came down with a DOOZY of a cold. Darn! Sneezing my head off every few minutes, 'tuffy and runny dose', coughing coughing. ICK. Wednesday night I was miserable. I only fixed hot chicken broth for dinner. That right there tells you I was sick! Yesterday I heated some Progresso Lite Chicken Noodle (Doodle!) soup for breakfast. Sat in my chair, covered with my snuggy down comforter, and watched movies! On Zicam, Vitamin C, hot tea with lemon. I HATE BEING SICK!!! Hope this is over soon. This morning still runny nose, still sneezing. BUT I think I am feeling a tad better. Staying in. Not getting near anyone. Nothing on the agenda this week or next, so hopefully I'll be back to normal. (HA HA HA... Normal?)

Yesterday this guy was out parading all by himself... not even any on-lookers!

Today is a special birthday... my dear neighbor Cindy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDY!!!! I am so lucky to have such GREAT neighbors!

Historically this date...
1621 – The Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony sign a peace treaty with Massasoit of the Wampanoags.

1622Jamestown massacre: Algonquian Indians kill 347 English settlers around Jamestown, Virginia, a third of the colony's population.

1630 – The Massachusetts Bay Colony outlaws the possession of cards, dice, and gaming tables.

1638Anne Hutchinson is expelled from Massachusetts Bay Colony for religious dissent.
..............I have to say, thank goodness I didn't live during that time with all the turmoil that went on.....

1943 – World War II: the entire population of Khatyn in Belarus is burnt alive by German occupation forces.
...........sickening. Too bad Hitler didn't live so he could be tortured and burned and stabbed and kicked and..........

1984 – Teachers at the McMartin preschool in Manhattan Beach, California are charged with satanic ritual abuse of the children in the school. The charges are later dropped as completely unfounded.
.....makes you wonder WHAT really went on....

1997Tara Lipinski, age 14 years and 10 months, becomes the youngest champion women's World Figure Skating Champion.

2006 – Three Christian Peacemaker Team hostages are freed by British forces in Baghdad after 118 days of captivity and the murder of their colleague, American Tom Fox.
.... a good person who tried to help and was killed for his efforts.

And births this date include....
1908 – Louis L'Amour, American author (d. 1988)
Jerry loved his books. Read all of them!

1912 – Karl Malden, American actor (d. 2009)

1923Marcel Marceau, French mime artist (d. 2007)
...there you go Brian... a clown and a mime all in one ... two of your favorites!

1931 – William Shatner, Canadian actor

1976 – Reese Witherspoon, American actress and film producer

Sitting here yesterday with nothing to do but sneeze and blow my nose I was playing with photos.... Here is my Sami and Tucker and Alex (with her buddy Ally) and Jack.... (sorry, they look grainy on the blog, not really when printed out)

All I know. Nuff said. Guess I'll go eat some soup. Ciao.
xo Sue Mom Bobo
National Goof Off Day
(Oh good! The pressure is off!!! LOL)

Then....... there is a lot of discrepancy if it's Coc Au Vin Day or Bavarian Crepes Day or Water Day.

Never made Coc Au Vin, but I suppose I should. Sounds really good. As for crepes, there was a place in the Arcadia Mall where Jerry and I would go and have crepes all the time. They were HEAVENLY!

I suppose you could have crepes for lunch and make coc au vin for dinner all the while drinking lots of water! But then, that isn't really goofing off, is it?
