Navy Helicopter ~ Football ~ Rice Variety/Veggies/Chicken

Good 51ยบ very cloudy morning. Only predicted is a "chance of rain".

Here is the radar...

No radio code for 10-14.

This from Gator. OMG. I was holding my breath watching this. The note attached to this video link said "No wonder Navy helicopter pilots get an extra allowance for their laundry.

Last night's football game.. 9er fans will be happy. (Yeah Jeannie!)  Lamb fans not so much....

Historically this date...
1908 – The Chicago Cubs defeat the Detroit Tigers, 2-0, clinching the World Series. It would be their last one to date.

1912 – While campaigning in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the former President of the United StatesTheodore Roosevelt, is shot and mildly wounded by John Schrank, a mentally-disturbed saloon keeper. With the fresh wound in his chest, and the bullet still within it, Mr. Roosevelt still carries out his scheduled public speech.

1967 – The Vietnam War: The folk singer Joan Baez is arrested concerning a physical blockade of the U.S. Army's induction center in Oakland, California.

1968 – Jim Hines of the United States of America becomes the first man ever to break the so-called "ten-second barrier" in the 100-meter sprint in the Summer Olympic Games held in Mexico City with a time of 9.95 seconds.

2003 – Chicago Cubs fan Steve Bartman becomes infamously known as the scapegoat for the Cubs losing game 6 of the 2003 National League Championship Series to theFlorida Marlins. This has become known as the Steve Bartman incident.

And births this date include....
OMG, so interesting!

1890 – Dwight D. Eisenhower, American general and 34th President of the United States (d. 1969)

Our Senior Leadership class in high school went to Pepperdine University to see President Eisenhower receive an honorary degree. I got to shake his hand. OMG, he seemed larger than life and his hands were HUGE! He was very pleasant.

1927 – Roger Moore, English actor

Here is one of my "made up" recipes...

First I took some asparagus, broke off the ends where they give, cut them into bite-sized pieces and steamed them with a bit of water and some olive oil.

Next I got out all the rice I had and there were several... Kalinga Jekot (Philippines sticky rice), Rice Blend (sweet brown, wild, heriloom red, calmati brown... get it at Costco), Yellow Saffron, Batsmati (aged Italian rice, wild rice, garden herbs and vegetables), and Ulikar Red (Philippines) ...

Next I drained two cans of mushroom slices, 1 can of olives, shredded some zucchini, chopped 3 peppers, and cut corn off a cob and added all in with the asparagus (that had been drained)

Spices were added... roasted garlic sea salt and pepper..

Then the drained chicken (BTW, if you have dogs or cats.. they LOVE the drained chicken water!!)

Then the cooked rice....

Mushroom Alfredo sauce and some grape tomatoes... and mixed well, heated.

OMGOOOOOD!!!!! Topped it off with a little shredded Mozzarella cheese.

If you are looking for a variety of sea salt..go here:

Yesterday was a trip out to Selma to a kennel where American Indian Dogs are raised and sold. What an interesting place. More about that tomorrow. If you want a sneak peek...

All I know. Happy Tuesday. Nuff said. Ciao.
