All day I waited for the internet to behave. Finally, just now, after rebooting for the umpteenth time, defraging, restoring, scanning for viruses, and rebooting the modem... it's back! It's 2:15pm.
Good 36º morning. If you are suspicious, then stay in bed today.. it's Friday the 13th!
Yesterday I went to the JCRW luncheon. Our speaker was Dianne Linderman, a radio talk host here locally, children's book author, cook book author, and entrepreneur. She and her husband owned what is now Summer Jo's, the restaurant in Grants Pass where we went for Mother's Day. It was called Country Cottage Cafe and Bakery. http://www.everythingthatmattersradio.com/ Her blog is neat!
Interesting clouds heading into Medford....
Our lunch was, as usual, really good. Salad with mixed greens and baby corn on the cob and mandarin oranges with a rich olive oil and balsamic dressing. Entrée was rice and teriyaki chicken breasts. The chicken was the MOST tender and moist I think I have ever eaten! Later I asked to speak to the chef and complimented his meal and asked his 'secret' with the chicken. He said they marinated it in teriyaki sauce and pineapple juice for several hours. Then it was grilled and then finished off in the oven. Fabulous! Gonna have to make that.
Left there and headed to Costco. Of course two of the items I wanted were out of stock. Always! Came home. It was another beautiful day. 70º and sunny.
And coming home and heading down into 'our' valley......
Dinner was an artichoke. Computer was acting up and I was angry with it after restoring it and then defraging it. Grrrrr... So shut it off and didn't look back. This morning it still has some issues but seems to be working better. We'll see..............
Historically this date....
I sure miss Johnny! Can't stand that white sock wearin' dork Letterman!
Three special people passed away on this date... Patty's brother Hal, Sandy's mom Lee, and Mike's dad Tom. All are so missed.
And births this date include...
He had 3 sons, one was 'Inch', 'Tape', and one was 'Wiggle'.
He had 1 son, 'Big'.
Do you think that piece of work ever got help?
Ok, so today is more of the 'Spring Cleaning' caper. Groan.... Then the Marine Corps League dinner tonight at the VFW. Always something exciting going on.
All I know. Nuff said. Ciao.
