Life After Death ~ Tucker's Baseball Game ~ Carwash ~ Pasta/Veggies ~ World No Tobacco Day

Good 55º cloudy morning.

We'll see....

Aaron called me yesterday (Montana resident now) and said it had been raining for 3 days! Lucky them!

Got this smile from PattyK:
Subject: Life After Death
"Do you believe in life after death?", the boss asked one of his employees.
"Yes sir." the new employee replied.
"Well, then, that makes everything just fine", the boss went on. "After you left early yesterday to go to your grandmother's funeral, she stopped by to see you!"

Yesterday was Tucker's baseball game. Brian set up his SF Tent for us to bask in the shade! Good thing. It was hot and VERY humid.
Jen didn't want me to take her picture, but she has gotten her hair cut short and it looks darling!!!

While Jen was running around taking pictures of the team... Jean and I were comfy in stadium seats Brian brought.. Jessica, Troy, and Dana joined us... and Sami was busy eating something!

Tucker started the game as catcher and then he was pitcher...

After the game I stopped at the car wash and them home to create dinner...

"I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?" Love it love it love it!!!!

World No Tobacco Day
Smoking gives you premature aging and wrinkles, BAD breath, it stains your teeth,
it leads to 6 million deaths each year and 600,000 are the result of second hand smoke! It causes heart failure, mouth cancer, throat cancer, lung cancer!

World No Tobacco Day brings awareness of the health issues and dependency issues related to tobacco use. World No Tobacco Day stresses the importance of making people all over the world aware of the health dangers of using tobacco. It also stresses the addictive nature of tobacco use.
According to the World Health Organization's website: The Member States of the World Health Organization created World No Tobacco Day in 1987 to draw global attention to the tobacco epidemic and the preventable death and disease it causes. In 1987, the World Health Assembly passed Resolution WHA40.38, calling for 7 April 1988 to be a "a world no-smoking day." In 1988, Resolution WHA42.19 was passed, calling for the celebration of World No Tobacco Day, every year on 31 May.
World No Tobacco Day is supported by medical organizations around the world. Many groups and organizations use this day to encourage individuals to quit smoking. They promote education of the issues and dangers of using all forms of tobacco.
The bottom line: If you smoke or chew tobacco....kick the habit today. Your life depends on it!

Avocados ~ Eggs/SausageBacon/Sweet Peppers/Spinach/Cheese ~ Baby Ground Squirrels ~ Artichoke & Roasted Carrot Chips

Good 58º cloudy morning...

Yesterday it was 90º by 2pm. Yuck!

Hard to believe it's the end of May already!

Posted this on May 20th...
"Got an email yesterday from Mike Nelson (LASD ret) and the told me the following:
Ever wonder how restaurants always have ripe avocados? Put the unripe avocado in microwave for 45 seconds, let sit for six hours, it will be ripe, firm and tasty.
Ok, if you have a green avocado, try this and let me know if it works!!!"

So.......................... I got avocados at Costco, shared most of them and kept one to experiment with. I let it sit overnight after the 45 seconds in the microwave... then cut it open.
Going from being hard as a rock to edible. Amazing.

Yesterday for breakfast I sauteéd some sweet peppers, added in a couple eggs, toped with crumbles of sausage and bacon. Let cook slow with lid on. Served on a bed of baby spinach, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese.....

1964 – Wynonna Judd, American country singer

Yesterday was "mow day" again. Worked until it was too hot. As I was mowing along I saw something moving in the grass... it was a teeny tiny ground squirrel baby! I picked it up and rubbed it's head and it relaxed. It was so scared. I put it up under a tree by a ground squirrel hole.
Then back to mowing...
Then... I saw another one!
Ground squirrels are not my favorite critter, but NO WAY could I kill those babies!!!! I hope their mother finds them! Soooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!

Dinner was an artichoke...

I also roasted some more carrot chips. They are so good!! Toss with olive oil and garlic salt... 350º for 25 minutes.

LOL, sitting in my chair after dinner and got a text from Brian ... his dinner:
When he was small he could never eat the whole artichoke, so lucky Mom, I got the heart! It was a sad day when he could eat it all!!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tucker's Baseball Saturday. Ciao.
