Weed Spraying (ugh) ~ Tomb of Unknown Soldier ~ (((HUG))) Day

Good 41º clear and sunny morning.

Yesterday I filled the 25 gallon weed sprayer and did the road from here to the pond and back. Then the road to the barn. Then filled it again and used the nozzle to spray around the carport, the tractor shed, and all the berry bushes I could find. Then around the outside of the barn. When I took the picture of the vulture way up in the pasture I noticed a bush growing there.

So..... off I went up in the pasture. It was a berry bush and I found a few more along the fence line. Worn out after that. It is a bouncy bumpy ride on the lawn-tractor on that uneven ground. Got some sunburn.... wearing my Birkenstock so strips on the feet and a great 'farmer tan'. Came in and showered and cooled off. Got to about 74º, but so clear and pretty.... and the poppies are blooming everywhere!

and.... a couple more puns from Ike:

This girl said she recognized me from the vegetarian club, but I'd never met herbivore.

I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. I just can't put it down.

Now, this washed my eyes out...

From Joan.... thanks Joan, this is still very moving to me. I was a the Tomb with my parents in 1954 and even at that age, I was 9, I was so impressed. It definitely is a glorious tribute to our soldiers.
Been around before but always worth seeing again.
