Barney ~ SB Ideas ~ Critters In Da Hood ~ Henrietta ~ Pup on Stairs ~ Slow Cooker Chicken & Veggies

Good 35º way too early morning! Couldn't sleep. Ugh......

Sad about Barney, President and Laura Bush's dog, passing away. He was so loved and so cute!

OK, guys, today is SB Day. Here are a couple ideas for you...

After a box of bait for the 'under the hood' critters was set out by Jeff from All Natural Pest and I sprayed the flat non electrical surfaces under the hood of my car with WD40, no critter footprints and no acorn residue. No evidence they were up inside the engine compartment. YEAH! According to the pest control fella, the critters have super keen noses and the best thing to do is put the bait somewhere other than in the car. They will find it! Baiting under the hood only causes them to go to the bait. The WD40 seems to be the answer, with their keen smellers they don't like the smell of it.

Remember I told you about the chicken with the broken leg? Well Dom has posted the following:
"Henrietta (the chicken with the broken leg) is doing very well. She's still inside, but she is standing and starting to move the bad leg. She has a good appetite and seems very content to be living in the Inn."
Her blog is interesting. She trains horses.

As my friend Terri Prim (ret LASD Avalon Station sec) said on her FB page..."Sometimes I pretend to be normal, but it gets boring. I go back to being me." LOVE it Terri!!

My friend Judy Duvall sent this video of a puppy trying to go down uncarpeted stairs. SOOOOOO cute! She gets help from Simon.....

Dinner.... a find in the freezer ... a package of cooked chicken. Using boneless chicken, cook in crockpot with enchilada sauce (red or green) 8-10 hours on low. This was leftover cooked in the red sauce.

I cooked some Mexican Infused Uncle Ben's rice in the rice cooker. I then added dried mushrooms with hot water and garlic powder and cracked pepper, drained and squeezed out the liquid. Put mushrooms in frying pan with olive oil, sauté til crisp edges. Add cut up broccoli, carrot .. put on lid and sauté until soft. Add diced tomatoes and leftover chicken, and heat well.

Serve over rice... AWESOME!
