Good 19ยบ morning. Come on... where is that global warming???
This is ridiculous. I WILL order a heated toilet seat. Maybe that will be the catalyst to stop this frigid weather!

My hummingbird feeders were frozen and had to be thawed.

You might find this funny ... this was posted on FaceBook
by an Israeli:

"Dear Egyptian rioters, please don't damage the pyramids.
We will not build them again.
Thank you."

The following from my friend Judy:
Oh I hate to part with this!  I've had lots of fun dinner parties over the years using my parents' former dining table and chairs.  Now must sell this late 1930'/early 40's Duncan Phyff style dining table w/5 matching chairs and one matching captains chair (6 in total).  Includes 4 leaves and custom made pads that are adjustable to fit any number of leaves added to basic table.  Fully extended it will seat up to 12.  Excellent condition.  Seat covers are traditional British tapestry.

Lunch yesterday was really good. I took the leftover chicken noodle soup, added more carrots and more broth, the leftover rice from the Chinese restaurant and the orange chicken, and some sliced up stuffed green olives, rosemary sea salt and some lemon sea salt. Yummmmy!

The sun came and went all day. Rained in between. Not enough to measure.

From the recipe exchange Trish started I received the following awesomely good sounding salad recipe from Tina (?)...

    CARROT POMEGRANATE SALAD
    Shred carrots-place in a bowl
    add pomegranate seeds to carrots
add a can of mandarin oranges with juice
toss thoroughly and refrigerate for several hours
sprinkle with sesame seeds prior to serving!!
    VERY YUMMY-HEALTHY AND REFRESHING----ENJOY

So, then I Googled "carrot pomegranate salad" and found this:
This one sounds Greek. I will make it. Hmmm... probably make both
to see which one I like best. Now to find some pomegranates!

Carrot and yogurt salad with pomegranate
    2 garlic cloves
    350g thick natural yogurt
    Squeeze lemon juice
    1 tbsp olive oil
    3 decent-sized carrots, approx 500g
    1 pomegranate
    25g bunch mint
Peel and chop the garlic. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and crush to a paste. Stir the garlic into the yogurt in a mixing bowl. Beat in the lemon juice and olive oil. Grate the carrots on the large hole of the grater. To loosen the pomegranate seeds, roll the fruit on a hard surface a couple of times, pressing down with the heel of your hand. Cut the fruit in half and either bang one half of the fruit against the side of the bowl or use a teaspoon to remove the seeds, discarding white pith and skin. Shred the mint leaves. Stir carrot, mint and pomegranate into the yogurt. Mix thoroughly, then transfer to a platter. Serves 4

All I know. Nuff said. Going to work at the Republican HQ today for a bit and then make a run up the hill to Costco. Ciao.
