Clear & Warm ~ All Natural ~ So Or Replica of Viet Nam Wall ~ Barb Voors ~ Egg/Artichoke Muffins ~ Deer ~ Strawberry Moon

Good 48º clear sunny morning.

Yesterday it was clear and sunny and still only 70º by 11am. (Sorry So Cal and AZ!!) By noon 75º. By 5pm we were at 84º.

James from All Natural Pest Control stopped by about 11 to see if there were any problems with the ground squirrels and gophers. Super nice guy and we always have a great chat. Here's a bunch of their crew and James in on the top second from right.

Southern Oregon is going to erect a memorial wall to honor our military veteran heroes.

"The effort to bring a permanent replica of the Viet Nam Memorial Wall to Southern Oregon has finally been approved.  Fund raising is on-going and should pick up speed now that a location has been approved by Jackson County Parks and Recreation Dept.

This project is totally a volunteer operation and is supported by all the local veterans groups.  Our Rogue Valley Marine Corps League detachment was an early supporter of this effort and will continue to support it.  There will be future fund raising activities which we can all be part of and I will continue to keep you all informed."

I made a donation in Jerry's name. If you wish to make one go to the link above.

My sister Betty sent me an envelope with family history stuff and pictures. She included this:
Cute! A wine bottle shirt! Actually really for a small dog, but works great on a bottle!

Interesting from Derry Benedict (LASD ret)
'A SHOT OF WHISKEY'  - In the old west a .45 cartridge for a six-gun cost 12 cents, so did a glass of whiskey. If a cowhand was low on cash he would often give the bartender a cartridge in exchange for a drink. This became known as a "shot" of whiskey.

Later dinner was artichoke bottoms, eggs, ricotta cheese, canned chopped clams, lemon garlic seasoning, pimentos, parsley flakes, and eggs.....
I sprayed the muffin pan with cooking spray and set in the artichoke bottoms.
Then I mixed all the rest of the ingredients and put on top of the artichokes.....

I baked them at 350º for 30 minutes. Then topped each of them with a different sauce...

   OMGOOOOOD!!!!!

When I was cooking a deer came into the yard for some munching.... and then later lay down next to the tractor shed in the shade...

Last night was the "strawberry moon". I went out about 11:30 to get a picture. Not so good from here. Just looked like any other full moon....

But... this photo taken by a NASA guy came out great ...

... as well as this one taken over Boston Harbor....

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.
