Good 39º cloudy morning. Rain expected some time today. Looks
like northern and southern California are on the list for rain today too... and
the South with those wild storms..
Yesterday about noon I heard Dude barking and looked out. Here
was a long-haired hippy looking guy with two dogs on leashes in my driveway
heading towards my gate. I opened the door and said, "Hello!" He looked panicky.
He said he was sorry he was on my property and was leaving as fast as he could.
Said he was lost! Wanted to know where Earhart Road was. I told
him....
Yesterday was housework stuff, Dude to the vets for a
mani/pedi. The girls at Dr. Dicky's office are SO NICE. Didn't see the doc, but
will in April for Dude's rabies shot and a check up.
I had ordered this "Hopquila" from a new site I found, called The Mouth. http://www.mouth.com/ This sounded so
interesting. Made like beer only with a tequila taste. Had to try it!!! Arrived
yesterday. Interesting bottle... On the front is an open frame...
On the back is this face....
Hold it eye level and the face shows through the frame!
So..... for my evening "cocktail" I tried it.... first sipped
plain then on the rocks...
OMG this tastes JUST LIKE TEQUILA! Addicting.
This scared dog sits in the corner of the shelter, but then
she sees her puppies again.... The dog was dropped off at the Marin Humane
Society in Ca. They soon realized that she had recently given birth. The shelter
contacted the former and convinced them to give up the puppies as well! Heart
warming reunion.
Today is a special birthday, my "traveling pal" Joan Petit-Clair is
celebrating. HAPPY BIRTHDAY girlfriend!!!! Hope you have a SUPER day!

Later it was reruns for dinner. Cleaning out the fridge! Then chair, wine,
and TV.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

Johnny Appleseed Day
Johnny Appleseed Day honors one of America's great legends. Johnny
Appleseed was a real person. John Chapman was among the American settlers who
were captivated by the movement west across the continent. As Johnny Appleseed
traveled west, he planted apple trees along the way, and sold trees to settlers.
With every apple tree that was planted, the legend grew.
A Little About the Legend:
John Chapman (aka Johnny Appleseed) was born on September 26, 1774.
He was a nurseryman who started out planting trees in western New York and
Pennsylvania.
During the life of John Chapman, the "West" was places like Ohio, Michigan,
Indiana, and Illinois.
John Chapman was a deeply religious person He was known to preach during
his travels.
According to legend, Johnny Appleseed led a simple life and wanted little.
He rarely accepted money and often donated any money he received.
There is a lot of "legend" in stories written about Johnny Appleseed. By
it's definition, over the years, legends grow bigger than life. It also appears
that there is some link between Johnny Appleseed and very early Arbor Day
celebrations.
Celebrate today with an apple rich menu. Include fresh apples for snacks,
and some applesauce or apple pie for dessert. And, make plans to plant an apple
tree.

What a lovely story about Johnny Appleseed. Love began in a garden. If we believe the world needs more love, we know where we should head.
Do you think we could use the beer to make lower liquor margaritas?
Night. Night.
Gardening is a joy, L, as long as we are able to do it! Lower liquor margaritas? This Hopquila is 80 proof. Hope you had a good sleep! xo
