Good 33º snow all over morning. It started about 8pm last night.
The rain started in again yesterday about 10:30am. We got another 1/2".
Kristen was back in the hospital January 8th. She was coughing and said it
was the same thing that happened to her prior to her ovarian
cancer diagnosis. She had her lung drained. A tube was inserted through her
ribcage. OUCH.
She was in the hospital until the 12th. Said she feels like she was beaten
in the ribcage with a baseball bat. The doctors found some small cancers in her
chest that didn't show up on the scan. She will have to go through more chemo.
More information as she gets it. She's home and resting now and will see her
doctor next week.
Ok, here's another one of those adorable animals with strange markings....

1929 – Martin Luther King, Jr., American civil rights
leader, recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize (d. 1968)
"It should come as no
surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost
all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the
anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and
civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat
Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: slavery, secession,
segregation and now socialism."
" It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950s and 1960s."

video of the snow falling, but it was too dark to really see.. Here is the tree
outside my living room window as the snow was coming down....

National
Strawberry Ice Cream Day
Today
is National Strawberry Ice Cream Day! The ice cream we know and love today
evolved from ancient flavored ices. As early as 3000 BC, people in China served
their guests sweet juices mixed with ice or snow.
While
fruity ice cream flavors are still popular today, vanilla and chocolate are the
clear favorites. According to a survey conducted by the International Ice Cream
Association, strawberry is the third most popular ice cream flavor, favored by
5.3% of the population.
Did
you know that Dolley Madison served strawberry ice cream at President Madison’s
second Inaugural Ball in 1813? Treat yourself to a delicious bowl (or two) to
celebrate National Strawberry Ice Cream Day!

What a cool sweatshirt for you! Who woulda thought they made such a thing. Did you have it custom printed?
Yes, MLK was a "R". In my memory the blacks switched their party in droves when LBJ created his "War on Poverty" and started handing out welfare. I know down on our Arkansas farm the blacks quit their jobs and moved into town to be close to where they could pick up their welfare checks. It has ruined the black families and you see how it has ruined their communities too. Pitiful!

There is a website www.teespring.com that makes shirts and advertises when they are doing special shirts. You can design your own and sell on Tee Spring. xo

Thanks GS!!! We are keeping positive. The best way to be. xo
Prayers up for your daughter and all your loved ones. May this incident be just a blip on the way to permanent recovery.
I think it will be a hundred years before the scholars finish with the actual record of IF Dr King was a Republican or not. I was very excited when I first saw the report he was a Republican- but it appears to be a "definite maybe".
The Demographic changes of the time - I will never fault a man moving to where he can find a profitable wage. However, I do fault a system which doesn't learn as it goes. Even computers are capable of "artificial" intelligence.
The problem, as I see it, is that people aren't grateful for whatever is good and the government doesn't dump programs which prove counter-productive. Money gets dumped everywhere, instead of focusing it on where it is proving to be of true necessity. Programs which usurp the initiative of both those who provide or receive charity should be allowed- or forced- to sunset.
My goodness- there are birds everywhere in the garden! Toodles.
Thanks L!!!! oxoxxo
