Quinoa & Egg ~ Amazon Order ~ Excited Baby ~ All Natural AJ & Josh ~ Stir-fry ~ AJ's Cooking Idea ~ Lemon Drop ~ June In January ~ Alzheimer's Test ~ National Dog Day

Good 48º can't tell if clouds or just smokey morning. There is some rain north in the Portland area and south in the Eureka area along the coast in N. Cal. I think I'll get my car washed today, that will guarantee rain here!

Breakfast yesterday was some of the quinoa/artichoke/roasted peppers...

I heated it up for 1 minute in the micro and then put an egg into Egg-Tastic with a touch of butter. I didn't scramble it, just let it cook whole. Came out a perfect poached egg. 45 seconds!!!! Thanks Brian Cook (LASD ret)  for the micro egg ideas.
Quinoa, egg, with a little bacon salt! YUMMMMMMM

From email pal, Gator...
Bill Clinton tried to cheer up Hillary this morning by
reminding her that Nelson Mandela got elected after he
was released from prison.

Yesterday I made an order with Amazon for some magnesium and some Hallmark movies.... pretty inexpensive buying a 10 pack and a 4 pack!

Now I won't run out of movies for a while! They will be here tomorrow!

Historically this date
1818 – Illinois becomes the 21st state in the union of the United States.

1883 – The 1883 eruption of Krakatoa begins its final, paroxysmal, stage.

1920 – The 19th amendment to United States Constitution takes effect, giving women the right to vote.

1942 – Holocaust in Chortkiav, western Ukraine: At 2.30 am the German Schutzpolizei starts driving Jewsout of their houses, divides them into groups of 120, packs them in freight cars and deports 2000 to Belzecdeath camp. 500 of the sick and children are murdered on the spot
...............so horrible and disgusting. Too bad a Jewish man/woman didn't' get the chance to terrorize, brutalize and slowly kill Hitler!

1864 - my paternal grandmother, Emma Laney
........sadly I never got to meet her...

Now this will put a smile on your face! Baby is sooooooooo excited about the cat!

OMG Erika, they have named a storm after you!

They named one after my pal Sandy once too. LOL, remember that one!

Yesterday AJ and Josh were out here from All Natural Pest Control to bait the ground squirrels. They walked all over the pasture and put bait in the holes....

Then AJ found a wasp nest or two in the enclosed pasture electric panel. He sprayed them. Good guy!

Dinner started out with some Mexican rice in the rice cooker.

This rice is soooooooo good!!!

Then I sauteéd veggies.

Starting with carrot chips, then in went the broccoli/cauliflower mix, and celery. I put the lid on with an opening and reduced the heat way down to 'Low'. Let it cook/steam a bit.

Then I dumped in broccoli slaw and spinach and the rice. Let it cook a bit.

I found this pulled pork in the cupboard. Opened one and tasted it. OMGOOOOD!!! Got it at Costco.

So I dumped a can of that in and mixed it well.
I went out and asked AJ if he liked pork. "Yes". So I gave him a can of it to cook with. He blew me away saying he'd cook some veggies like broccoli/cauliflower/carrots and oinion, and add in some wild rice blend and this pork! OMG, almost exactly what I did! Great minds!!!

Then it was cocktail time and the news. (No my photo was never on, they used another person's that was more colorful)
Lemon drop martini...on the rocks!

Dinner was SUPER good along with some chardonnay and a bit of that creamy garlic sauce I am so addicted to!

Then it was a Hallmark movie, June In January.
Marilu Henner plays the groom's mom and a real bad bad over protective person! She eventually comes around!

My pal Linda down in Woodland Ca sent this. Can you pass the Alzheimer's Test?

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Hump Day. Ciao.

National Dog Day has two goals: to honor dogs, and to rescue dogs from homelessness and abuse. It's an opportunity for us to recognize and appreciate the value and importance of dogs in our lives.

This day is intended to honor dogs for all that they do for us. In addition to giving love and companionship, dogs help us out in countless ways. They are watchdogs for our safety. They lead the blind. Dogs aid in search and rescue, and they seek out bombs and drugs.

The second goal of National Dog Day is to rescue dogs in need. On occasion, dogs need us to save them from homelesness and abuse.

The goal of the National Dog Day foundation is to rescue 10,000 dogs a year. Lend a hand to help a dog in need today, or any day.

National Dog Day was created by the National Dog Day Foundation. Their motto is "Saving 10,000 Dogs - One Day at a Time".
President George W. Bush, a dog owner himself, sent a letter to the foundation in support of National Dog Day. (YEAH GW!!!!)
