I am publishing this in the hopes of being able to add photos to it later. Even the font won't cooperate!! Fu**ing computer!!!!!! (Yes, today I could add the pictures! It's 1-11)
Good 40º gloomy foggy morning. We were promised rain this weekend, starting
today or tonight and so checking with the weather people..... no rain in sight.
What is up?????????????????? Can't the EVER get it right? We did get some late
yesterday and over night that gave us just over 1/4". That surprised me!
Had a note from Jennie, she's got Bill's crud. Hope hers doesn't turn into
the walking pneumonia too. She's going to call her doc today and see if she
can't get something to stop this. She's miserable. Nurse Ratchet caught it!!!
Get well soon girlfriend!!!! I'm doing fine. All the Vitamin C, echinacea, and
gargling with apple cider vinegar/water seemed to keep it away, or at least send
it away!
Had a fun chat with my gal, Leah. She always does such a great job on my
hair. Came home and Bruiser ran across the yard to meet me. He's such a nut.
Maybe he thinks he's a dog!
When I go into the bathroom to dress and do my hair/make up, both Dude
and Bruiser have to keep and eye on me...

Then...... Dude sneaks off in the evening ... goes to my bed and makes
himself comfy............... with his head under my pillow!!
I guess he thinks he's being incognito! He cracks me up.... like military dogs who like to sleep on top of their soldier handlers,
Dude likes to sleep as close to me as he can...sometimes resting his head on my side or back!

I had to laugh.... I named my BFF and I and our friends who like wine "SOW
Sistas" .... Southern Oregon Winos. So, Joe Kirk (LASD ret) and his JoAnn moved
to the Central Oregon coast ... he said that makes them COWs ~!! LOL. I guess if
you lived up by Portland you'd be a NOW.

The following I posted on my blog a year ago today:
"The seasons
all remind me of things, winter reminds me of quiet. Shhhhhh....... Let's cook
something that will warm us up, lets read a book snuggled on the couch with the
cat, let's make hot chocolate and watch a movie ... Spring is always memorable
because of the jump at you beauty. Summer is so busy with activities and places
to go. Fall air just makes you feel good and alive. Then winter. I always look
forward to it, only because growing up and living in Southern California we
didn't have 4 seasons. Wait, we did ... Fire, Flood, Riot, and Hollywood's Award
Season! (Gag, don't they ever quit patting themselves on the back!) I'm not
whining, mind you, I do love each day and it's presentation. As with the
constant heat of summer, the fog this winter was deflating. But, then again,
each day brings a new promise. Today it's windy. Watching the leaves swirl and
blow ... the wind chime is in full concert ... cat and dog are close by. I'll
live! :O)"

I am having a
hard time with gift giving and thank yous. Money gets spent, packages mailed and
delivered, and not one thank you, other than a quick email or phone call that
sounds like they are too busy to do much else. Oh wait a minute, I did get one
from my BFF. BUT that is the ONLY one! I guess if folks don't appreciate gifts
I just wont' give them any more. Birthdays, Christmas, doesn't matter. I was
raised to write a thank you for a gift of any occasion. Guess there are only a
couple of us left....... makes me sad.
Off the soapbox.
Yesterday I
made a meatloaf. OMGOOD!!! As soon as my computer gets fixed and I can load
photos on the blog, I have several recipes to share. This meatloaf contained
ground beef, ground pork, cheese, sourdough soaked in milk, bacon, zucchini,
broccoli slaw... and a topping made from sweet chili sauce, mayonnaise, and
Tabasco steak sauce.
Today is
meatloaf sandwich day!!! Drooling now thinking about it.

Peculiar
People Day is in honor of uniquely different people. Un-ordinary, extraordinary,
unusual, strange, odd, uncommon, intriguing, different, abnormal, and quirky....
These are all things that we think of to describe the word "peculiar". Most of
these characteristics can be viewed as good, or not so good. Today is a day to
look for the good in your peculiar
acquaintances.
