16º ~ FOOTBALL ~ Cell Phone Etiquette ~ Sun! ~ Pastrami Sandwich Day

Good 16º FROZEN morning.....
First picture 7:30am ... second 8:am

Sunset and moon.....

GOOD GRIEF what a football day!!! The Seahawks and the Falcons were AWESOME. I couldn't believe the plays, the score... amazing. End of day, Falcons 30 ... Seahawks 28. I was screaming and yelling and omg. That game took my breath away.

Then.........

my Tommy breaks Joe Montana's record with 17 pllayoff wins......As a boy in San Mateo, California, Tom Brady grew up rooting for Joe Montana. In Sunday's AFC Divisional Playoff Game against the Houston Texans, Brady passed his idol as the winningest quarterback in NFL playoff history.

It was another, "WHATTA GAME!"
Patriots 41 - Houston 28. WHOOT WHOOT!!!

Two years ago today Jeannie and I became friends. We had met at the Law Enforcement/Fire Christmas Party in December, her husband being ret. LASD, and decided it would be fun to meet for lunch. We did, the rest is BFF history!

Got this photo from Joe Kirk.... he said "they are lining up early for the inauguration!

I received this 'cell phone etiquette' story from my email pal, Mike Cippola..... I love this!

After a long day, a commuter settled down in her seat and closed her eyes.

As the train pulled out of the station, the guy sitting next to her pulled out his cell phone and started talking in a loud voice.

"Hi sweetheart. It's Eric. I'm on the train."

"Yes, I know it's the six-thirty and not the four-thirty, but I had a long meeting."

"No honey, not with that blonde from accounting, it was with the boss."

"No sweetheart, you're the only one in my life."

"Yes, I'm sure. Cross my heart."

Fifteen minutes later, he was still talking loudly.
When the young woman sitting next to him had enough, she leaned over and said into the phone,

"Eric, hang up the phone and come back to bed."

Eric doesn't use his cell phone in public any longer!

I posted this over 3 years ago, but it needs another viewing. WARNING...get the Kleenex box out first!

Historically this date....
1952 – NBC's long-running morning news program Today debuts, with host Dave Garroway.

1969 – An accidental explosion aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) near Hawaii kills 27 people.

1973Elvis Presley's concert Aloha from Hawaii is broadcast live via satellite, and sets a record as the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history.

And births this date include....

1924Guy Williams, American actor (d. 1989)

1926 – Tom Tryon, American actor (d. 1991)
...just so sad to me that so many of the handsome actors I was smitten with turned out to be gay! Not fair!

1938 – Jack Jones, American singer

1941Faye Dunaway, American actress
.... all I can say is, "Why???" She was beautiful, now a plastic surgeon's work.

1944Marjoe Gortner, American evangelist
(youngest ordained minister!)
... yeppers, this was the guy I delivered a package to when I worked for UPS... up in the Hollywood Hills. I had a "fro" and so did he. He stared at me! LOL. He was odd with a capitol O!

1968 – LL Cool J, American rapper and actor
...I like him, don't know why. Something about him is pleasant to look at and listen to. Seems to be a nice guy!

Brian told me he is feeling mucho better! He and Sami both had a stomach flu. They had all been to the pizza parlor with a group of friends on Wed and 9 of them ended up sick on Friday. It wasn't from the food, or they would have been sick that night!

About 4 in the afternoon Maggie and I took a ride in the golf cart to the road to put the trash can out.... the sun had come out, warming us up to a sizzling 38º! Touches of snow still up high on the mountain.....

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao

Ahhhh, thanks BFF. Can't believe it has been 2 FUN years already.
Football games were great. Can't wait for next Sunday! Congrats to Brady, but Montana is still the man in my book. Oh, that's right, you already knew that!
Faye Dunanway, Yikes. Why do they do that. So sad.
Andy Rooney was great on 60 minutes. Actually one of the main reasons I watched. Always had me LOL.
Sure glad Brian and Sami are better. As much as I am unsure of the flu shot, guess we better go get one. Better late than never? Maybe?
That Pastrami sandwich is a major drooler.
Have a wonderful Monday, and chat later. xo
Jeannie
Thanks for the blog!

I see pastrami for dinner. Unfortunately, not from Philippe's.

Oh be still my taste buds! Love pastrami. We live too far away from Philippe's so we will have to settle for The Hat. Sounds good to me!
Couldn't believe Faye D.'s after photo. Lordy! Ugly!!

Sounds like a fun football day! I am feeling a bit guilty because John wanted to watch the games but he spent the afternoon hanging new pictures for me. Daryl helped him so it was good timing while Daryl was at home.

I have been meaning to ask you, is your bedroom upstairs or down? How mwany bedrooms do you have?
Great photo of the house!

I always swooned over Guy Williams! What a hunk! I was a big time Zorro fan!

Glad Brian and Sami are over that stomach flu. I hate that worse than any kind of sick!

Hugs, Trisha

There are two little bedrooms upstairs, mine is downstairs. When the house was built in 1930 it was a cabin. You can see the dining room side of the house in this picture. It was a porch and the people we bought from had enclosed it. Basically to begin with it was a 2 tiny bedrooms downstairs, 1 bath, living and kitchen with outside stairs to the upstairs rooms. Now there are 2 baths.
