Today is also Deputy "Big Al" Rodriguez's birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AL!! Al and I in 2007 when he stopped by on his way hunting in
Montana.... or somewhere like that! It was just after Jerry died and he wanted
to stop and give me a hug! Al worked at ELA when I was there. My buddy!
Joe, Betty, Marion, and mini Me!! (Everyone has always
been taller than me! Fortunately Tucker and Sami are still
shorter!
Yesterday I had a great chat with an old friend, you
Temple people will remember Barry Perrou..... We talked for quite a while. Nice.
Reminiscing ... fun.
Last night I woke about 3 am with a sore throat. UGH.
So, I poured ½ cup of water and added 1 T. apple cider vinegar and sipped it
down slowly. I know, I know, it tastes like you are drinking out of a pickle
jar! BUT.... the sore throat went away and is still gone! So there. I swear by
that stuff!

Strawberry Ice Cream Day
(Whaaaaaa....in January?? I love it, but I'll pass today.... Sort
of apropos this pink ice cream day
would be Bill's birthday!)
It's the third musketeer of ice cream flavors. It's no coincidence that strawberry ice cream makes up one-third of every quart of Neapolitan. After vanilla and chocolate, strawberry is the next most popular flavor of ice cream. As such, it has earned its own day of recognition, National Strawberry Ice Cream Day. Go ahead, you can still eat ice cream in January!

Never cared for strawberry ice cream until I had it homemade. It is the stuff that bigger dress sizes are made of.
Some history is never told. Some history is made up. Some history is manipulated to the story tellers views.

I wish that story was told more often. I am thinking it was around the Johnson presidency when most blacks went over to the Dems because of the War on Poverty and the give aways. It did them no favor as it didn't allow a man living in the house. Hence too many male children had no father figure to keep them in line and discipline. By the time they were teens the mothers couldn't control them. Many joined gangs. It's sad.
That strawberry ice cream looks yummy but I will pass too! :)
