Bruiser Surgery ~ Girl's Day Out ~ Dryer Mechanic? ~ Stirfry

Good 39º clouds hanging on the ground damp morning. We did get some drizzle yesterday. Not enough to measure and more coming today.

This from my friend Marie Vincent, neighbors from Temple City.....
"About the diet cake. I use a can of diet coke with chocolate
cake mix can of lemon lime diet soda with spice cake mix
Both are yummy with a dab of cool whip." Such good ideas! I'm telling you, that cake I made is sooooo good. I snack on it often!

Yesterday Bruiser had his surgery. I kidded with the doc about "cutting off his balls" and then "sending him right back home"...... ya think he may be mad at me now????
Anyway, he was fine shortly after the surgery, cleaning himself, and then napping. I told them to keep him through the weekend, as he needs his meds, it's cold/windy/rainy here and I would feel better if he were inside and not out in the big cat cage at PJ's.

This made me laugh out loud!

Today is the Clay Folk Show at the Armory. Going with PJ, and Dee. PattyK was going to go, but she's got that "thing" that's going around ... scratchy throat etc. Then a stop at the new Trader Joe's we haven't been to yet. Then lunch. Here's the link for the show, click on Gallery to see some of the awesome things they make from clay....

My Christmas cactus is going to town!

Historically this date...
1968 – Viewers of the Raiders–Jets football game in the eastern United States are denied the opportunity to watch its exciting finish when NBC broadcasts Heidi instead, prompting changes to sports broadcasting in the U.S.
.............boy howdy, wouldn't have wanted to be near any Jets or Raiders fans at that moment!

And births this date include....
1925 – Rock Hudson, American actor (d. 1985)
I adored his movies!!! What a beautiful charming man.

1942 – Martin Scorsese, American film director
.... another one of those Hollywood folks married 5 times!

1943Lauren Hutton, American actress
She has never married but had a 27-year-long relationship with her manager Bob Williamson, who squandered some $13 million of her money.

1944 – Danny DeVito, American actor
OMG he was in a dream I had yesterday morning!!!!! And, no, it wasn't anything sexy, he was his strange little self! I told Jeannie and Brian about it. I can't believe this. Weird.

1949John Boehner, American politician

1951 – Dean Paul Martin, American singer and actor (d. 1987)
..........sad death.

Yesterday since there was a noise of some kind, like a screw or coin, in the dryer that was not visible, I decided to take the front off and check.

Well, I know NOTHING about doing this, so I did manage to get the door and front off and vacuumed it thoroughly. Couldn't get to where the noise was, so buttoned it up and so far it's still working!

Dinner was one of my favorites... stirfry with soba noodles, fake crab, this time I added leftover peas and butter fried cauliflower...

Along with the Asian sauce that comes with the soba noodles I drizzled in some Pico Pica. Sooooo good!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday. Ciao.

Bruiser is indeed fortunate to have such a wise "mother".

Here I wasn't going to cook and you tell me it is Baklava Day):- Be still my blood sugar- I haven't made in years. The Albertson's kind is good- but homemade ):-

I agree the homemade is best, but to save time and energy, the Albertson's is great. Or manybe you have a Greek Bakery in the area? xo

Good morning. I am sorry to miss the girls day out. The sun is coming out on my hill. What next? Hope it will be nice in Medford.
Hope Bruiser is feeling better today. I am like you, it would not be good for him to come home and be outside in this weather. Buddy just eats and gets back in his bed. He doesn't want to be out in the rain either.
Congratulations on fixing your dryer. Your can always get a second job, showing women how to fix things for themselves.
