~ Halloween Chex Mix ~ Tucker & Sami ~

Good 41º foggy (again) morning. My mountain is not visible!

Got this from my friend Terri Prim (former Avalon Station secretary now retired in Florida) ... If you garden or just love flowers this will amaze you. God's work... such beauty.

Ok, how about making some Halloween Chex Mix... This is good, easy, fun, and everyone will like it...
8 oz white chocolate baking bars, coarsely chopped
4 cups Corn Chex® or Rice Chex® cereal
2 cups bite-size pretzel twists
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup candy corn
1/4 cup Betty Crocker® orange and black candy decors
In large microwavable bowl, microwave chopped baking bars uncovered on High 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth.
Gently stir in cereal, pretzels and raisins until evenly coated. Stir in candy corn and decors.
Spread on waxed paper or foil until cool and chocolate is set, about 30 minutes. Break into chunks. Store loosely covered

I'll be taking some with me on Halloween!

Yesterday after basic chores I headed to town. Got cracked corn and some fire logs at Ace. Then to the market.... Grrrrr, forgot green tea. Darn! Anyway, got marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham crackers. Then to Brian and Jen's. Tucker got this wazoo remote flying helicopter from Bill and Jeannie and he was in the front yard flying it.
Didn't get a picture before the batteries took a dive! Next time.

Sami ran out and gave me hugs and helped carry stuff into the house. I got them a fire pit for the backyard. Now Tucker can roast marshmallows and have S'mores to his heart's content.

Here is Tucker helping Brian put the pit together....
and then we simulated the marshmallow roasting..
Yes, that's my granddog, Atlas, drinking from the koi pond!

Sami dressed up in her "Tangle" outfit. The movie "Tangled" was apparently about Rapunzel. Sami has the doll and matching outfits..... she calls her doll "Tangle".
For Tucker's birthday I gave him a Lego set and he has it all put together....

I had a nice visit with my family. Jean was also there, putting up wallpaper in one of the bathrooms. She bees the wallpaper mama! Lots of work. Been there... done that! Good job Jean! Jen is getting it all together in their new house. Some beautiful new furniture and she's removed wallpaper and painted and just tons of work, both she and Brian have done.

So............ then I stopped at Bill and Jeannie's for a wine. Jeannie and I sat out on their deck and it was heavenly. Perfect afternoon. She made some green tomato bars with rolled oats that were GOOD! I need the recipe missy! Had a fun chat with my friends ... and Chaka! What a funny dog, she is. A love. Ok, so came home and wasn't in the mood to cook, had reruns ... an artichoke will boil and the lobster tail will meet it's doom with clarified butter in the oven tonight!

Ok, all I know. Need to clean out some rain gutters today and screw down a corner of the metal roof on one of the carports. Then, maybe, I'll get to the new smoker and get it up and running. I am anxious to smoke a chicken. Bill and Jeannie smoked some and shared. They are SO GOOD! Also, my smoked peanut supply is dwindling and need more...

Happy Sunday everyone. Ciao.

OH MY GOODNESS Sue! You are sure the worker bee! Where do you have room to store all your canned foods? That's a lot of jars!

LOVED the pic of Sami in her Tangled outfit! Ohhhh to have had a darling little girls like her.....sigh.

What neat Legos Tucker has built there. My boys, especially JJ, was a Lego nut! Still have so many of them.

Yes, Nancy Grace is on Dancing and is actually doing a good job. Each week her hubby and twin babies are in the audience.

Have a good one!
