Smoked Peanuts ~ Pasta Pesto Salad ~

Good 56º morning. 78% humid. Hit 96º yesterday. Today's top heat level is supposed to be about 92º. BFD, 4º! My gauge said yesterday that the heat level felt like 107º.

The excitement was pushing the envelope yesterday. I watered and watered.... then I cleaned up the little smoker. I used the glass cleaner for wood stoves and it's all shiny now...

Before...

After....

Then I read recipes for the smoker. I smoked
some peanuts for an hour. Then another batch
for 90 minutes. I'll let my friends taste test them
to see which is better. I've eaten so many peanuts
I can't tell any more!

Now here's one of my favorite things...

Pasta Pesto Salad:

1 pound gemelli or other short pasta
1 cup plain 2 percent Greek yogurt
2 pints cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
Pesto

Make or buy pesto. Cook pasta according to package
directions until al dente. Drain and run under cold
water to stop cooking.

In a large bowl, combine pesto and Greek yogurt and
stir until well blended. Add cold pasta and toss to
coat with dressing. Top with tomatoes. Serve salad
at room temperature or cover and refrigerate to
serve chilled. GOOD!

Since Obama has called for Gaddafi in Lybia

to stand
down.... I'm asking Obama to stand down.

Boy, they are two peas in a pod!!!!

OMG, this is hilarious. Thanks George for
sending it!
It's one of those prank videos. Too funny.
I'm still laughing!!!

When at Patty and Cliff's the other night they have
a stray kitten that is showing up. OMG, "cute" just
isn't enough to describe him/her. PJ said she had a
client she pet sits for that would take it if it could
be captured. Well, last evening they saw it, fed it,
and Dave took a cat carrier up there. It was captured!
And Patty said it seemed happy and was purring a lot.
Skinny and looking malnourished. Now it will go to a
good home. The woman is taking it to the vet's first
thing today.

I love a happy ending!

My grapevines are getting out of hand,
so looks like I will be trimming and trimming
today. LOL, they are growing all over the gate!

Sue,
I am still laughing at the pink polka dotted elephant video. So funny!! LOL The funniest part was when the woman walked out wearing the same thing as the elephant. LOL

I was bummed last night when Huckabee was prempted by the news from Tripoli. It's weird because we don't know who these revolutionaries are and if they are going to be worse that Gaddafi. I think what happened in Cuba with Castro when this happens. I also vote for Obama to stand down too!

XO Trisha

On the date in 1989 when Nolan Ryan got that hit-my husband was on jury duty. Coming home for lunch, in the hallway there he ran into old neighbors- the son had been molested by the Little League Coach the family befriended.

Halfway home a man turned into him, injuring both husband and truck- ending my husband's jury duty.
