Maggie ~ Frogs Squirrels & Deer ~ Pesto Pasta Salad with Additions

Good 52º morning.

Holy Cow that hurricane Irene is going to SLAM the Bahamas!

And... the Dougherty sibs, the girl being 29, and her two brothers 26 and 21, have 73 charges filed against them for their Florida to Colorado crime spree. There isn't an ounce of gray matter between the three of them. Who did they think they were, Bonnie, Clyde, and Stupid????? She said she deserved to get shot. Hell yes! Point guns at cops. Duh.

Thanks Trish for the following:

We are all familiar with a Herd of cows, a Flock of chickens, a School of fish and a Gaggle of geese.
However, less widely known is a Pride of lions, a Murder of crows (as well as their cousins the rooks and ravens), an Exaltation of doves and, presumably because they look so wise, a Parliament of owls.
Now consider a group of Baboons. They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates. And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons?
Believe it or not ....... a Congress!
I guess that pretty much explains the things that come out of Washington!

And here is a great video of Ronald Reagan..

Priceless!

With all good intentions I was trimming grape vines yesterday. Wheelbarrow had low tires, so went to the tractor shed to get the little air compressor. Maggie was investigating the ground squirrel hiding place in the logs by the tree. Brought compressor back and the Maggs was gone! She was gone for 45 minutes. As a young dog she used to run off all the time. Go to the pond. Roll in elk poop. Oh the joys. So I was a mess. Cougar has been spotted in the area. Also we have coyotes. She did come back and covered in those pain in the hoo hoo stickers. Little balls that are like Velcro®. I got the cat brush
(metal combs) and that worked great...Then sent her inside... 45 minutes later she was still panting!

Mr. Tree Frog was on my screen door, Mr. Squirrel was in the corn tub, the deer paid a visit and some baby turkeys also.....

Good morning and happy birthday to fellow Sue-fan Cliff!

Think I need to steal some tadpols. The chihuahuas would like that):-

Chihuahuas would like tadpoles? or the frogs they grow into? That little frog is LOUD! Ribbit ribbit ribbit. His croakings fill up the whole porch! You can encourate frogs by putting 'frog houses' in your garden and have water low and in a container that is mostly covered. They like to get in my watering can, so I cut off the end so they can get out and not get stuck.

Sue,

Above you commented that "Trish" had sent you that piece. Do you know another Trish cause I didn't send it.
LOVE Reagan and his story telling! I posted that video on my FB page.
What a strange story about the kidnapped girl. Cried and cried when she heard her kidnapper was dead?? Now owns his house?? Weird.

Love seeing all your animals! They must love you! Glad Maggie came back unharmed. Once in a while a girl has to go have a fun adventure! :)

...a group of baboons - a Congress How fitting!
Maggie's escape - What a naughty girl she was! Solitary confinement was the proper punishment. What is it about wolves & dogs that they just love to roll in poop and, at times, cadavers? Glad she didn't do that this time, and glad you figured out how to get the stickers out of her fur. She looks like she's had a great adventure and is ready for a long nap.
Cute pictures of the deer & turkeys, especially the squirrel in the tub. Erika

Oh that's ok. It happens to us all! Me, a lot! We just call it senior moments.

p.s. I don't feel that way about all in congress. My congressman is the BEST!!! Totally conservative and fighting for US!

(smiling) We have a great Congressman too, Greg Walden. Awesome!

Sue,
Isn't that wonderful that in our two lib states, Oregon and Calif. we each have wonderful "R" congressmen whom we adore? Amazing and thankful!

XO Trisha
p.s. I think I have set a record for the most comments in one day! :)
