Pork Loin ~ AD ~ Senior Citizens Day

Good 57º (ick) morning. 74% humid.
Too warm for me.

Yesterday I did some running around...
Staples, Rite Aid, Albertson's....
Copy paper, printer ink, Hyland's Hayfever
pills
( http://www.hylands.com/products/hayfever.php ...
I must say, all their products are natural and work magnificently...), and other stuff....
Later had cocktails
with Patty and Cliff and took him some
birthday things....They are heading back to the coast,
and his birthday is Tuesday. One the way home the
sky was awesome...

Ok, if you like pork loin...go here...
another Budget Byets recipe that made me drool....

Historically this date...
1911 – The Mona Lisa is stolen by a Louvre employee.
1959President Dwight D. Eisenhower signs an
executive order proclaiming Hawaii the 50th state
of the union. Hawaii's admission is currently
commemorated by Hawaii Admission Day
2006 - I had an AD and the .22 bullet went through
my left hand. Upon setting the gun down and holding
only the grips, it discharged. I was flown to
Portland University Hospital for surgery.

...after that little incident, several department
friends told me that the gun was a piece of junk,
a Beretta .22 semi-auto, and that they had also
had ADs with it, it was disassembled and tossed!
Beretta makes fine guns, whodda thought! Of course,
from the ER Jerry called my children and our friends
and without explaination he said, "Sue shot herself" !
That put everyone in a tailspin! Sigh......

And births this date include....
1920Christopher Robin Milne, inspiration for the
Winnie-the-Pooh stories (d. 1996)

1936Wilt Chamberlain, American basketball
player (d. 1999)

1938Kenny Rogers, American singer and actor

As my son has repeated, "Kenny Rogers couldn't win a
Kenny Rogers look-alike contest."

1956Kim Cattrall, English-born actress

... and high school buddy,
Kathy O'Brian Quintanar Forsythe

is celebrating today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHY!

... and friend Lynda Castro is also celebrating.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNDA!!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Sunday. Ciao

Senior Citizens Day

In 1988 President Ronald Reagan, with a
Presidential Proclamation, declared that
August 21st was National Senior Citizen Day.
Here is a good site....
Oh boy, let's go to the senior center and celebrate!

I remember the occasion of your GSW, and am glad Jerry didn't call me as I would have totally freaked out. Men are so short on words when words are necessary, but are danged long on words when its about machinery, fishing, or sports - grrrrrrrrr! Didn't we have a full moon that day?

Thank God the AD was your hand and not into the chest cavity. My father in law had one that missed his chest by an inch. Gerry and I got a couple days off work to be with his parents through the crisis. Whis is backkground on how the decision to buy a boat and move into a fancy neihborhood turned into parenthood.

I know enough about guns to keep them pointed away from anyone or anything important, only trouble as I was leaning down to lay it on the porch and it discharged my left arm was down also and hand was in the way. Try leaning down to the ground with something in your right hand and see where your left hand goes. Not natural to wrap your left arm around your neck!!! LOL
