~ Goats ~ Whiskers ~ ET ~ Bacon/Chive/Cheese Bisquits ~

Good 49º raining (natch) morning.

It drizzled all night which gave us another 1/4"

This is 3 days of rain.

The neighbors who had Shiloh (I miss her!) and raised a 'cow' (steer) that I called "Cow" and fed dog biscuits are now raising goats....

They are still pretty skittery and I haven't approached them yet. They are in the pasture by my gate. We'll see if they like dog biscuits!

My friend, Patrick in Washington, has a cat named Whiskers, who likes to lay in the bathroom sink and watch him shave.....

He's pretty much the cutest thing! Thanks Pat.

Mr. Holden grew up close to where I did. He graduated
from South Pasadena High School and attended Pasadena
City College (me too!) and got his start at the Pasadena
Playhouse.

Our friend, Paul Harper, who passed away in 2009, was in the
movie The Wild Bunch. He gave Jerry the hat that Holden wore in the movie. Here is a picture of Paul with Ernest Borgnine:

Today is also the birthday of Sandy and Jerome's grandson (Erine's son), Ethen Thomas Erickson who 6. Just realized, they must call him 'ET'!!! Cute.

Ok, so yesterday I didn't want to do housework. Surprise :-O So I decided to do some experimental cooking. I had a can of Grands biscuits

, Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon...
5 slices cooked (which by the way is better than Jennie O AND, the big AND... 50% less fat than regular bacon!), grated American and Jack cheese 1/2 cup, and some fresh snipped chives from the garden. First step beat and egg with 2 T of milk. Cut Grands into quarters. (I only used 4, the other 4 will be discussed later.) Spray a 9x9 pan with Pam. Chop the cooked bacon and snip the chives.

Put biscuit quarters into the bowl with the egg and coat well.

Fold in the bacon, cheese, and chives. Spoon into pan in single layer snug up next to each other. I took about 4 spoonfuls of ricotta cheese and poked it into some of the crevasses.

I cut 2 of the biscuits into halves and wrapped them around a little smokie sausage. I set them into the pan at one end and topped them with grated Parmesan. The last two biscuits I left whole and wrapped around a little smokie and cooked them on a cookie sheet.

The little smokie biscuits with the Parmesan cheese were good, the others without were too plain. The bacon/chive/cheese biscuits are GOOD!!! The ricotta is yummy. Ok, so for Easter I'm going to make a 9x13 pan of these.

Didn't feel much energy, a little dizzy, so made a fire and the kids and I watched TV and had popcorn.

Harley loves popcorn!

Today is 4-17 and 417 is a poleeece radio code for 'man with a gun' or a California Penal Code section for 'brandishing a firearm in a rude, angry, or threatening manner'.

All I know. Happy Sunday. Nuff said. Ciao.

Amazing! In my AM newspaper under birthdays? The oldest person listed was 63 today. I have never seen that before. There is always at least 1 person in their 80s or older.
I know who "SILO" was but what was SILO?
My favorite is Turkey bacon! I only cook it in the microwave. For 2 or more slices I start by cooking it for 1 minute less then the total number of slices being cooked. I then turn the slices over and place them at the edge of the cooking surface because they do not cook evenly. I then cook an additional 1 minute. It is now cooked thru and crisp, like a potato chip!

Are you talking about Shiloh? She was the little Australian Shepherd that would escape from the neighbors and come to my house. They finally got tired of her taking off so they gave her back to the people they got her from. :o(

Sue,

What an interesting and pretty dish you created! It does look good enough as a take to a gathering dish.
I have started compiling my Easter dinner menu and shopping list.

Have a good Sunday, Palm Sunday!
