~ Fighting Turkeys and Geese ~ Birdhouses ~ Animal Crackers ~

Good 43º raining (sigh...) morning.
Started late yesterday and rained all night.

The ground is mushy!

Not too an exciting day yesterday. I did manage laundry, dishes (no dishwasher yet), emails, sorting the beads that I dropped on the floor the other day (groan), and putting up a birdhouse on an L bracket.
OO-RAH! (It's a USMC birdhouse)  Then my drill ran out of juice. So, today or tomorrow I'll put up more. For now they are on the porch rails
Most of these I got from Gary. He is the supreme birdhouse maker in Rogue River!

.... >>>>this one my neighbor Frank made....

<<< and last year a house with baby blue birds was invaded by a raccoon and all were lost. Putting them up high this year in hopes that doesn't happen.

Oh, and this is the one that fell over during one of our porch 'happenings'>>>>>

Funny, in the morning yesterday I heard my geese honking. I went out and put some corn. The flew down from the top of the barn. Soon some Tom turkeys
were there and started chasing the geese away. I was P*SSED so went out and chased the turkeys away! (Someone should have had a camera! PJ's and slippers.... wet grass...) All the while I did this, the geese HONKED and HONKED. What characters. Then they ate some corn. The turkeys returned and went after the geese again. AGAIN, I went out and chased the turkeys away. Sigh.... You'd think geese would be more aggressive.

I love signs. Some of these are nutz!

Drizzle started again about 3pm.

Animal Crackers in my soup..... What kind of soup goes with animal crackers? Maybe strawberry? On a drizzly day like today, not the most appetizing selection.

Careful chasing the turkeys!

Love the birdhouses.

Yes, Shirley Temple's little song.. don't think a sweet cookie would be good in soup. This morning the turkeys were out and the geese honked and honked at them from the barn roof and then left! Hmmm.... xo

Interesting birdhouses. I always loved Barbara Hale on Perry Mason. My mother once said to my daughter, you're mother was an odd child. I preferred "grown up" TV as a child. Animal crackers, so good, especially Mother's iced ones, but Costco has plain ones in a very large container for a very good price!
