~ Being an 'IT' ~ Patty's AWESOME Cookies ~ Mushroom Recipes ~

(Gettin' full... be careful out there kids!)

Good 50º drizzly Saturday morning.

Looks like it snowed in Iowa on the Eagles......

Yesterday I didn't do much. Shoudda. Didn't. Yawn. Oh well.
The stuff I did do was insignificant. I took a dog bed that had been in the kitchen Maggie never laid on... Yukon used to and when Shiloh ran away from home and came visiting she loved laying there! and I put it on top of the other two on the front porch.

Now Missy Maggs is like the Princess and the Pea. She
loves this big soft comfy bed!

We had rain all day. Ended up with 1/2". Still doin' it.
Looks like it will continue through the middle of next
week.....and beyond.............?

The geese stopped by yesterday and so did the mallards, but didn't get my camera in time for their picture.

Sorry, fence post in the way. Hard to get a clear shot
from in the house.

Went to town and mailed some stuff, picked up a
prescription, and then went to Patty and Cliff's. So many
problems with their computer and too many people working
on it. She had reinstalled AOL with a disc, but somehow clicked something wrong. It would let her use her email address.... so
she had to make up a new one. And her screensaver, and aquarium with fish, was screwy. So, having had AOL for nearly 20 years, I worked on it. Uninstalled the versions she had in her computer and reinstalled it, clicking on all the right tabs, and got her old email address back. Cliff was happy all his Favorites were now there too. And fixed the screensaver aquarium. Taaa daaaa... all that 'IT' work made me thirsty. So, she poured me some wine! We had a nice chat too. She sent me home with some cookies and pickled asparagus! Mmmmm.....

The asparagus is great in bloody Mary's. The cookies were
wonderful and unique. She made them with spice cake
mix and white chocolate chips and nuts.  Can't quit
eating them. Here's the recipe...
Patty's Easy Cookies
1 box cake mix, any flavor
1/2 cup oil
1/2 to 1 cup of any flavor chips, chocolate or whatever.
1 cup nuts
2 beaten eggs.

Mix, drop and bake
350 degree oven 14 minutes

I had some  Boudin's San Francisco sourdough breads sent to
Aaron for his birthday. He called. He and Marie were happily
stuffing their faces with it! Aaron, I found out, LOVES Boudine's
the most.

Their clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl is to die for!

I am going to try the cake/cookie recipe. Sounds so easy....I like that! Enjoy your newsy blog. I sometimes let them go a few days, then catch up. We have the Canadian Geese on our lake, sometimes, too. Right now there are 2 swans swimming, coots, seagulls, a heron and ducks. Lots of fun to watch. We've identified over 45 different bird species on the lake at different times. Our park had to enforce a no feeding of wildlife (mostly birds) policy. The birds were getting lazy and fat, etc. Sounds like a welfare state.

Bye for now.

For husband's appreciation day I spent it at the City Birthday Party. It is 78 as I write. The sun is down. So we made the mid 90's this afternoon.

Sue,
WOW! You got to sleep in this morning! GREAT! You need to do that more often! I was up bright and early to get to our Pantera Park for the DB City Birthday Celebration. I am home now, grimy, tired after 8-1/2 hours out there! Fun and got to visit with lots of folks!
I am jazzed to see that it's Jon Cryer's bday! He is one of "our guys" from 2-1/2 Men! In fact, HE makes the show! He's terrific! So funny!
What a lot of great bdays today! Isn't it such a shame that people have to get so awful looking with age? Deliver me! :):)

Hugs, Trisha
