Good 42º rainy rainy morning.
Well, Friday the rain started and we got ¼" now it's
almost 1½" and it's still raining..
The weather map looks like the soaking is hitting No. Cal big time...
March 6 is the 65th day of the year (66th in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 300 days remaining until the end of the year.
Yesterday I was putzing around the house and saw Shiloh outside. She 'escaped' again from Gerard and Maria. I called them and finally about 40 minutes later the came and got her. She is such a loving pooch. I tried to get a picture of her but she wouldn't sit still!!!
She just wants to be loved and the minute I bent down to take her picture she was up in my face. Funny. Wiggle wiggle wiggle!
Historically this date....
1836 – Texas Revolution: Battle of the Alamo – After a thirteen day siege by an army of 3,000 Mexican troops, the 187 Texas volunteers defending the Alamo are defeated and the fort is captured.
1964 – Nation of Islam's Elijah Muhammad officially gives boxing champion Cassius Clay the name Muhammad Ali.
His life story is something else. Varied and convoluted. Refused to be drafted, convicted, reversal by Supreme Court on technical s*it, and given the Presidential Medal years later. 4 marriages, 7 children, some with women he just had affairs with. Stranger than fiction!
This chick can't decide where she wants to live. Back and forth.... Became a citizen here, back to Russia and reinstated as citizen and then back to the good old USA!
And births this date include.....
The actor formerly known as Meathead blasted the "tea party" movement Friday night on HBO, comparing its followers to the Nazis."My fear is that the tea party gets a charismatic leader," actor/director Rob Reiner said to applause in front of a live audience on Bill Maher's "Real Time." "Because all they're selling is fear and anger. And that's all Hitler sold.
Weird weird weird!
Yesterday Patty and Cliff's son, Chuck, and his wife Linda came up from Ft. Jones. They all wanted to go to dinner so we settled on Red Lobster. Ha! The wait as an hour. "Lobsterfest" I guess is the culprit. So we went to McGraths Seafood restaurant.
The celebratory 60 married years kids...
and 'Chuckles' and Linda...
You have to laugh, not only do Chuck and Cliff look alike, matching beards etc, but his mom's eyes... and Chuck and Cliff both ordered the exact same thing! Genes run deep!!!
Good dinner. Mine started with a glass of chard..
then some clam chowder....
and the piėce de résistance was....
We were all stuffed as we waddled out the door. Everyone came back here for a nightcap and some more chatting.
I saved half of my steak and gave Maggie some all cut up. She loved it. Then this morning I cut up the rest and put it in her dish. She won't eat in the morning.... turned up her nose and went outside. In the meantime Mr. Harley ate every piece of that steak!
He's full and napping now!
Brian called late last night to say the birthday party for Sami and her friends wouldn't be taking place today... she and Tucker both had the stomach flu. Poor babies. I hope Jen and Brian escape getting it! Sigh....
All I know. Nuff said. Ciao.

Good morning. There is a slight chance your rain will stretch down to here tonight.
Wiggle should be a more popular dog's name.
It would sure fit my little Reno.
Since it is Michaelangelo's birthday- think I'll do something artistic.
Sue,
I must say that if I were a dog I would want to escape to your house too. That pooch loves you!
Oh my I forgot it was Lobserfest at my fav restaurant! Your dinner looked fabulous!! Don't know how you could have eaten all that even having a bit of steak left over. When I have the soup or salad I can only eat a little of my dinner.
Ahhh poor Tucker and Sami. That's a real bummer and especially since her party had to be postponed. That's the worse kind of flu.
Oh you will enjoy that stuffed filet of sole. I don't think you have to thaw it tho. We are really enjoying the seafood. Those portions of Omaha are soooo perfect for us. I think when we stop these diets and go back to eating them I will continue to order more. It's pretty cheap eating when you consider what you would pay in the market.
Hugs, Trisha
T, these neighbors of mine said to me several times, "you spoil Shiloh". Huh? She comes here, I call them to let them know, and give her a dog cookie. Spoiling? Oh yes, after she was let into my house a couple of times they said that. She NEVER gets to go into their house!! Cruel. xo
OH NO! As cold as it gets there and he isn't allowed in the house?? Unreal! I hope they have a big dog house with a warmer in it then. Poor baby! No wonder he loves you! Probably loves being at or IN your house!
No, Shiloh doens't have a 'warmer' just a dog house. She stands outside their slider and stares in. Can't imagine that. They have a warm wood stove roaring and she has to stay out. The "reason" is... they have cherry wood floors. So????? Put a rug down or put booties on her. Something, but LET THE DOG IN!!!!!
They say, "what goes around, comes around." Alas & Alack, he's meathead again
