~ SNOW! ~ Crabn'eggs ~ Chocolate Covered Nuts? ~

Good 28º snowy morning!

Snow on Maggie's nose!

Breakfast was awesome. I sauteéd some grape tomatoes,
threw in some crab meat, and then when hot added
scrambled egg, salt and pepper. When done I topped
it with grated cheese. Mmmmm mmmm mmm..........

There is this one little robin who hangs around under the
Nyjer feeder. Apparently eating the seed is easier than
catching worms!

You can see she has snow on her. This was yesterday.
It snowed on and off all day, but nothing stuck for long.

So about 1pm there was all this commotion... turkeys everywhere.
The Tom were engaged in "king of the hill" competition. Taking each
other on. There were about 12 of them. They ran into the trees and
then the hens were all here too, watching the Toms, and I counted
roughly 35 of them. OMG what a lot of noise and running and
craziness.  And at the same time the snow was coming down
and blowing!

You can barely see the Toms

And the hens in the blowing snow waiting to see the outcome..

They must have settled their differences and came
out of the trees

Historically this date....
1866 – Miners in Calaveras County, California, discover what is now called the Calaveras Skull, human remains that supposedly indicated that man, mastodons, and elephants had co-existed.
1919Oregon places a 1 cent per U.S. gallon tax on gasoline, becoming the first U.S. state to levy a gasoline tax.
But we still don't have a sales tax!
1964 – Cassius Clay (later Muhammad Ali) dethroned Sonny Liston in the Muhammad Ali vs. Sonny Liston world heavyweight boxing title, Ali's 20th pro boxing fight and first heavyweight title.
1974 - Susan Pendleton and Jerry Maxwell had their first date.  He took me to East Pasadena (can't for the life of me remember the restaurant...since gone and nowThe Islands) for lobster.

And births this date include.....
1873Enrico Caruso, Italian tenor (d. 1921)

1901Zeppo Marx, American actor (d. 1979)

1913Jim Backus, American actor (d. 1989)

1929Christopher George, American actor (d. 1983)

1938Diane Baker, American actress

1943George Harrison, English musician (The Beatles) (d. 2001)

1965 – Carrot Top, American comedian
Way over the top weird! And his plastic surgeries
haven't improved anything!

1966 – Téa Leoni, American actress

1966 – Nancy O'Dell, American television personality

So, now T's favorite show, Two Snd A Half Men is history.
The drugged up and drunken Charlie Sheen has sealed
that deal with his garbage mouth and ramblings about AA
being a bootleg organization and his boss being all sorts
of rude things! Idiot. Ah ha, but not too different from his
idiot father! Duh.

All I know. Gotta make a run to town some time today.
Nuff said. Happy Friday to ya'll workin' stiffs! xo

Sue, I've bee trying to post comments for over a week and finally figured out why I couldn't. Wish you could send that breakfast plate through the air to a plate in my kitchen! :) Love the pics. Glo's at minus 9 this morning and it looks like there's no end in sight for well over a week. I'm enjoying your blog every single day. XO Edda

Love Clam Chowder!!! I have great memories of digging for clams at Huntington Beach with pitch forks. Our family would dig them up, measure them to ensure proper size, place them in a bucket of salt water overnight so they would spit out all their sand, then slice them open and get all that great clam meat. Made the BEST clam chowder from that... Mmmmmmm... Can almost taste it just thinking about it.
I also recall eating at that same Lobster restaurant on Colorado Blvd. in East Pasadena... right near the IHOP. Great food. I also remember going to the nearby Hastings Drive In Movie Theater long before they put in the Hastings Movie Building... also spent lots of time at the Temple City Theater and was on site to see it the day it was torn down..so sad, but life moves on. Lots of great memories in that area for sure. Dad was a Pasadena PD Officer so we were there often from our No. San Gabriel Home.
Think I will pull out some clams and make a pot of chowder today for supper... Great idea, thanks Sue !!! Have a great day and stay warm.

The cute little weather girl says snow may come in as low as 500 foot. Do you think that will confuse Charlie Sheen if "white stuff" starts falling from the sky?

The pastoral picture- that's a post card shot made to lure Angelenos to Oregon):-

L, you are funny. A few years ago, 7 to be exact, it hailed big time in So Central LA in November. We joked about the same thing then, with the white stuff falling from the sky how confused those poor drugged out idiots were!!! xp

Sue,
Surprised that no one has commented on the new look of your blog. Beautiful!
Love the pics. I LOL looking at Maggie walking around in the snow and I was wondering what the heck Lola would do in that. She doesn't even want to set feet on the grass when it's wet.:(

Yummmmm your breakfast looks so delicious!

Well all I can say is DAMN that Charlie Sheen!! He is an idiot and stupid to ruin something that was so great! He was playing himself in that show which is probably why it was so good. On the radio they said it was the most successful comedy on TV ever!! The cast of characters were beyond fabulous! John and I felt like they were family as we have watched them for so long! DAMN that idiot!! What's with these Hollywood types who can't realize when life is so good for them!!! John says he heard that Charlie was rambling on about the fact that he wanted Obama to do certain things and he's not doing them and won't return his calls!! IDIOT!!
Well we will just have to continue enjoying the reruns! Now because of Charlie all kinds of folks are now unemployed!!

Anyway, great blog!

Hugs, Trisha

Thanks T. Yes, I felt bad for you when I heard the news from CBS. Like you say, at least you have reruns. Glad you like the blog's new look. I hate things to stay the same. xo

Your breakfast looks so good. Also can you believe Lynda's kids are so excited about tomorrow since snow is expected at there home. The snow will be down to 1000 ft. It hasn't snowed there for 10 years. And they love it. It is very unusual for it to be so low. And the temperature will be 27 degrees there for the high. I might be able to look out my kitchen window and see some snow just north of us. We enjoy reading what happen in the past on this day. Thanks again.
