~ Alex Pooblie's Birthday ~ Geese ~ Hawk ~ Corned Beef ~

Good 41º morning. Wow, 20º's warmer than the beginning of the week. What a difference. It's actually nice. I'm not freezing my buttinski off! And... the toilet seat wasn't frozen!

Yesterday I was pleased the geese came down off the barn roof and ate some corn and lay in the grass. (They are out there right
now having a snack!)

They are still waiting for more of their 'relatives'.
Should be 2 or 3 more pairs.

Trish called me yesterday, thank you dear, and while
we were chatting I noticed this hawk sitting on the
top of a pine tree surveying the area...

Friday I started my newest infusion project...
 basil infused vodka.

It definitely smells like basil and has a fresh clean
almost 'green' taste to it. I like it! With a couple ice
cubes and a lemon wedge..... Mmmmmm....

Maggie and I went to Patty and Cliff's for a wonderful
corned beef and cabbage (+potatoes and carrots) dinner!

Maggie kept and eye on us...

and Cliff watched the car races, kindly with his headphones on!!! LOL

Patty had some good Chardonnay for me and a funny Valentine's card. The card has a baboon on the front with a heart-shaped box of candy. Inside it says, "As long as he brings chocolate, who cares what he looks like!"  Me thinks Patty and Cliff are teasing me about the Geezer Magnet thing!!! LOL

We came home, made a fire, and got snuggy in my chair.

Congrats on the "heat wave". Good thing the corned beef dinner came while the weather was still cold enough to enjoy the heartiness.

The Monkees. The only concert I ever screamed through):- I saved every penny of my allowance for 3 months to go. Vicki Bergreen's dad was our ride to the Hollywood Bowl. She didn't have as much to spend on a ticket- so I split my money with her.

The Association was the opening band. Cherish....

Good Morning Sue,

It was so good to talk to you yesterday. Love the pic you snapped while we were talking. That was a great one!
Ohhh that dinner looked yummy! Glad you enjoyed and had to LOL at the card they gave you! Too funny!

Know you will have a wonderful time tonight at Brian's bday dinner! Happy Birthday Brian!

As always great pictures. You can ad to yesterday's birthdays my father Frank Nicholas b. 1911 d. 1954 and my brother-in-law, Ernie Chacon, b. 1942. In this morning's weather report, I was told rain will start tomorrow, 2/15, and continue for six days. I love corned beef and cabbage. Still make it on St. Pat's Day.
Sarah Signing Off .. Congrats to your Aaron and his bride today!
