Rain a comin' ~ Brain fart ~ Elk ~ Auburn/Ducks ~ PatC's party

Good 28º morning.

No fog, just dark high clouds with rain predicted from now through the end of the week.

and the summit is looking cold and lonely...

I'm just going to go out and shoot myself....I forgot the memory card in my camera yesterday. It was stuck in my computer so none of the pictures I took at PatC's birthday party came out! Thankfully, hopefully, Debbie's came out. AAARUGHHHHHH..... I feel soooooooooooooo STUPID!!!

The birthday party was nice. There was a big cake and snacks. The Ducks/Tigers football game came on and the noise level rose a bit!

Auburn won 22-19.  My Oregon friends are sad, but my Southern (Alabama/Georgia) family and friends are happy.

Some neat photos...
A bald eagle released in the stadium during the National Anthem...

 A worried Ducks fan.

And  ......

Auburn footballer Neiko Thorpe, (from Tucker GA) celebrating.

This morning I had some visitors....
They show up so early it's hard to get a good photo in this very low light. Brian suggested a spotlight hooked up to an extension cord so when they show up I can hit them with the light and get a good picture! LOL  Thanks B. xo

Historically this date.....
1878Milk is first delivered in bottles.
1935Amelia Earhart is the first person to fly solo from Hawaii to California.
1949 – First recorded case of snowfall in Los Angeles, California.
.... And how I remember getting up from my nap (I was 3)  and everything was white. Our Christmas tree had been put outside and it had snow all over it. I thought it so beautiful. Mom put warm clothes on and Daddy and I made some snowballs on the front lawn. Then the neighbor boy came and threw and hit me with a snowball. I cried. He was a brat!  :o(
1964United States Surgeon General Dr. Luther Leonidas Terry, M.D., publishes a landmark report saying that smoking may be hazardous to health, sparking nation- and worldwide anti-smoking efforts.
SOAPBOX ...... Ok, people, for the last 47 years you have known smoking is bad for you and yet you continue to smoke! It's not only bad for you, but bad for anyone around you, it's expen$ive, it causes litter and dirty ashtrays (ugh), and besides you don't smell very good!
Look ..... I feel it's my duty to bug my friends about this. I'm a reformed whore, I used to smoke. So, been there, done that. Quit now! The doc didn't list Jerry's heart as the cause of his death, he listed on the Death Certificate "smoking" as the cause! Wake up ....

Births this date include....
1868Cai Yuanpei, Chinese educator (d. 1940)
    ... Isn't " Cai Yuanpei !! " something a Chinese cowboy would say while riding a bucking bronco!!   :o)
1923Carroll Shelby, American race car driver, automobile designer and businessman

1924 – Don Cherry, American singer and golfer

Famous for the song "Band of Gold". Neat song!1955! Click the link:

Whatta hunk he was!!!
Dang, it sad to get old!!!!

1946Naomi Judd, American singer

This just in................... photo from Deb of PatC modeling the "outfit" I got for her at Goodwill. I guess she now has a head start on the "Ugly Sweater" party for this year!!!
The hat: red and black, the scarf: orange and green, the sweater: turquoise and green and blue. A true fashion plate!  :o)

All I know. Nuff said. Ciao.

You need the light on before the critters show up or you will just get their tail ends.

There is something about some of the hats sports fans wear that makes me understand my parents' skepticism of the "normalcy" of people who like sports):-

Sorry Girlfriend Sue,

I have been a light smoker for many years. (I count and stick to my limited each day) I enjoy it so much, especially with a glass of wine. So don't plan to quit. Even tho it may shorten my years by a few I figure I will enjoy what I do have. You know our former friend GS just had a heart attack and has never smoked in her life.
OK you can stop lecturing cause I am an adult and it's my choice. I am very considerate about where I smoke so as not to offend anyone. I don't even smoke in my own house. It's outside in the cold and even rain so as to not bother the family.
Thanks anyway for the concern.

Love your deer photo. Do you think the spotlight would spook them and they would run?

Hugs and love you! :)

Sorry T, just my job to get my friends to quit smoking! I know you are considerate, but it's you I worry about, even with a "few a day". As for the "deer"...they are elk. And yes, they would run like mad!!! LOL

Sue,
I didn't know you smoked at one time. I'm sorry that you did, but I'm happy that you stopped.
I tried it once and thought it was horrible, so I didn't continue.
I didn't know that was the cause of Jerry's passing.
You are a very good witness for stopping. Keep telling people! Don't stop telling them.
I was just talking to my new Health class ten minutes ago about the affects of smoking in one of my introductions to Health. Man do I tell it like it is. It is a horrible habit and addiction.
