~ Maggs ~ Puppy ~ Hugging Day ~ Clam Chowder

Good 32º morning. Frost and more frost!
Yesterday the sky was lovely...and we had sun!!!
When I got up this morning the sky was awesome......

I had to take Maggie to the vets first thing this a.m. They called late yesterday and said the test kit for the Cushings had arrived (already!) and they wanted to know when I wanted to come in. I said "tomorrow"! I want this to be over with for her and the sooner the better. So after 6pm last night she couldn't have food. I did give her a little sweet potato/chicken treat at 3am when she wanted out to pee. Then I gave her pills to her with a tiny piece of cheese and put some chicken broth in her bowl. She drank a little. They will do a blood draw first thing and then give her a shot of something and then do blood draws all day long. Poor baby! I took some of her treats and a dental chew, so when she can eat something it will be her favorites. I'll pick her up around 5pm.

Yesterday I did get a bunch of stuff cleaned out of my bathroom drawers and tossed a bag full. Yeah! Today it's the cupboards in there.....

Oh, and when I walked in the vets, first thing Joan asked if I got pictures of today's sunrise. "Of course!" :o)   Then Joyce walked out with this teeny tiny black puppy, asking, "Do you want a puppy?" Groan, he was the CUTEST thing! Probably 5 or so weeks old and black as the ace of spades. Not a white hair on him. OMG, "Of course I want him, it is just not practical at the present time." Sigh....
I held him and he even smelled good.

Historically this date..........
1977President Jimmy Carter pardons nearly all American Vietnam War draft evaders, some of whom had emigrated to Canada.
1985 – The inauguration of President Ronald Reagan to a second term, already postponed a day because January 20 fell on a Sunday, becomes the second inauguration in history moved indoors because of freezing temperatures and high winds. The parade is cancelled altogether.

And births this date include....
1922Telly Savalas, American actor (d. 1994)

1926Steve Reeves, American actor (d. 2000)
 (Herculoins!)
1936 – Plácido Domingo, Spanish tenor
1940Jack Nicklaus, American golfer

1951Eric Holder, American jurist, and 82nd United States Attorney General
1956 – Geena Davis, American actress

Today Bob will be having his shoulder surgery. Jeannie will be waiting with Candy at the hospital. My thoughts and prayers are with you Bob and Candy! I'll check in with you later.

Well, late start today. Breakfast was oatmeal with peanut butter mixed in, an orange cut into segments mixed in, and drizzled with Blue Agave sweetener. I know.... so healthy!!! I try.  Nuff said. Ciao.

Carolyn has a procedure on her knee today. If it can be repaired, it will be. If not, they will not proceed and schedule a knee replacement. If she has that surgery, it will be her second knee replaced. I'm off to Wal Mart again today. If it's not one thing I need, it's another. We have very warm weather which will continue through the weekend. I am going to make orange yeast rolls later and freeze them unbaked.

LOL Sue, At first I thought BOY Geena Davis has gotten ugly! Looks so much like Eric Holder now! teehee

AWWWWW I LOVE that little black pup! Looks so much like our Cocoa and our Velvet when they were that size. I am however enjoying not having a dog to care for. Well, on a permanent basis. Mz. Lola is enough as often as she is here.

Ohhhh my mouth is watering looking at the clam chowder! ohhhhh yum!! When I go out I am eating like a pig lately! I guess I was starving while kitchen was being refurbished!

Love your skies! Very beautiful!

Hugs! XO Trisha
