Heats A'Comin' ~ Clouds ~ Throw Back Thursday ~ Schwans Scrambles ~ Mike ~ Dude ~ Tornado States ~ Georgia Sue's Chile Rellano Casserole ~ Veggie/Pasta/Steak Dinner

Good 46º clear sunny morning.

Yesterday we warmed to 85º. Had doors and windows open, nice breeze. Really comfy! House stays very cool.

Of course this weekend, Fri Sat & Sunday is Rogue River's Rooster Crow parade, carnival, and car show and predictions for 109º on Saturday. UGH~!

Yesterday the clouds were amazing. Just loved them... These are Cirrus and Cirrocumulus clouds:

Throw Back Thursday
The one and only time I was in jail! 1953:

Yesterday was busy... first Dude was a happy camper getting to eat!
Me too. I had some of the Egg Scrambles I got from Schwans... frozen, into micorwave for 2 minutes 20 sec. They have a thin crust and filled with scrambled egg, bacon, and cheese.
I had the scrambles with some applesauce topped with cranrasins. YUMMMMMMM!!!!

I had called the golf cart company, Tuesday, telling them mine is not running well and was told he'd see how busy he was yesterday and if he can pick it up. Never called me~! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......... We'll see if he calls today, if not I will call them back~!

Mike came over about 11:30 and started mowing.

Dude was happy to see him and kept an eye on him while he mowed... He stopped mowing and will be back Friday to finish more.

'Kicking Bird' in Dances With Wolves.

This recipe for Chile Rellaño Casserole was posted by pal Georgia Sue on FB. Easy and  sounds/looks HEAVENLY!

Ingredients:
15 oz can whole green chilies, divided in two
1 pound Monterey Jack or Longhorn cheese, grated, divided in two
2 T. flour
4 T. butter
1 dozen eggs
12 oz can evaporated milk
Direcitons:
1. Preheat oven to 350º. Greese casserole dish (using cooking spray is best).
2. Remove seeds from chilis.
3. Layer the green chilies then the cheese in the casserole dish
4. Sprinkle the flour and slices of butter on top, then add another layer of chilies and cheese
5. In mixing bowl beat the eggs and evaporated milk together and pour over the casserole.
6. Bake for one hour.
7. Serve with sour cream and salsa. Makes 12 servings.
8. Precooked chorizo can be added in a layer before the cheese if desired.

Later for dinner I put a broccoli/cauliflower/carrot combo in the big pan with olive oil and garlic and tomato and sauteéd ...
while I cooked some bot tie pasta.....

When the pasta was done I added it to the pan along with about 3/4 cup of the cooking water and a couple pats of butter and let it all heat through. In the meantime I cooked a sirloin steak in the air fryer.... PERFECT!!!!!
In the air fryer at 370º for 13 minutes.... still rare in the middle!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

National Chocolate Eclair Day

National Chocolate Eclair Day is a sugary, sweet way to start your day. It's a sweet, tasty way to end your day, too. Eclairs are a light, crisp pastry filled with a pastry cream. They are most often eaten as a dessert. They can be eaten at every meal, or as a snack.
We hope that you are not on a diet, or watching calories, carb or sugar. Because participating in this day, means consumption of high calorie, high carb, high sugar eclairs.

Did you know? Eclairs originated in France.

Your steak looked like Carol Herrera's prime rib last night at Outback. She likes her meat rare too. John and I almost couldn't stand to watch her eat it. LOL

I was socked that Florida is the #1 state for tornados? Hurricanes yes but I would have thought Kansas would have been #1.

Love the looks and sound of GS's chile rellano casserole. However, you certainly have to have a lot of people to help you eat it. It would have to be cut down. I have a good recipe for it also.

Do I need to ask if you will be going to the parade on Saturday in the heat? :)

It's way cooler this morning here. Don't know what the rest of the day will bring.

I have always liked my steaks with a little moo left in them, T! No, not going to the Rooster Crow. Stayin' in with the AC on!!! And yes, that casserole sounds good, but I would cut it in half. Is your recipe similar? xo

I will email it to you. A way smaller recipe.

One more reason to be glad we never moved to Florida. I bet they are also high in lightening strikes.

I don't think I could take the humidity in the south. xo

Here in Georgia we experience humidity for a brief spell once or twice a year but we all have A/C's and on those days as long as you can go from an A/C car to a home that has A/C you almost don't experience it. But not to worry, nuttn's gonna pry you away from Oregon...hehe.

My Daddy was from Alabama, Arlon, and he said you could never wash your socks and expect them to dry overnight in the summer! Of course back then there was no such thing as AC! Or clothes dryers! xo
