Throw Back Thursday ~ Barracuda Jeans ~ Burt Reynolds ~ Selleck ~ Projects ~ Bruiser ~ Stuffed Portabello/Udon Noodles/Spiral Cut Squash/Salmon ~ Prime Rib

Good 34º foggy ice on barn roof morning.
Yesterday the rain kept up and we got another 1/2".

Happy Throw Back Thursday...
2006 Aaron visiting and us watching the Rogue River Rooster Crow Parade...

Hard to see, but Jerry did have my name tattooed on his right arm...

My friend Ann Ramirez (LASD ret) sent some information as to the new type of jeans that Nordstrom's is selling... OMG. Are they out of their minds!!!
Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans.... $425 a pair!

Go here and read about the designer company and the man who started it. Go to the bottom of the page and read "About us".

This is quite sad... Burt Reynolds...then and now...

And then there's his before and after plastic surgery. YUCK. Why???????

I have a new shirt on the way......

And, on my desktop wallpaper is also Tom, which always make me smile!

Yesterday I worked on some "projects". Boring............. I had written a note to Amazon complaining that they packages I order are not being delivered by UPS any more, they are taken to our post office and I have to go pick them up. Amazon apologized and refunded me the cost of one of my orders ($74.00) ! I said I lived in the "boonies" and want orders delivered instead of having to drive into town!

Then I stitched up a tear on my comforter. Geeze, I haven't sewn anything in ages! Even used my mom's old thimble!
It is at least 100 years old!

Then I went through a bunch of cooking magazines (Sunset, Cooking Light, Kraft Food & Family, Southern Living) and asked locals if any of them were interested. Found two.... Turk wanted the Cooking Light and Leah wanted the rest for her beauty shop. Yeah!!!

Trying to work on my computer is sometimes a challenge when Mr. B wants to be right in the way!

Whatcha want mom?

Later I was in a vegetable hunger mood so for dinner I roasted stuffed portabello mushrooms and then stir-fried some sprial cut squash in a mix of butter and olive oil and Lawry's Garlic Salt (of course!). I cooked the Udon noodles in the microwave for a minute, rinsed them, and added them in with the sauteing sprial cut squash,  and then added in some canned salmon...

                                     Oh yes!!! YUMMMMMM!!!!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TBT. Ciao.

A friend asked me about cooking prime rib..... here is a foolproof way, comes out perfect every time...

Make a rub of salt and pepper and garlic and/or onion powder and or any other type of herb you like and you can even mix it with butter or olive oil .... rub onto roast. Put in roasting pan, turn oven to 550º. When oven is ready put in the roast and cook it 5 minutes for every pound for rare, 6 minutes per pound for medium. Then turn off the oven and DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR FOR 2 HOURS! Done to perfection.

Here is a formula: For me it was 3.75 lbs x 5 min. = 18.75 minutes or 19 minutes.
