Rain ~ Wind ~ Sun ~ Old Photos ~ Flooded Maxwell ~ Perfectly Timed ~ Veggies & Sole Almondine ~ Sticky Buns

Good 43º raining morning. 3/4" since last night.
OMG the wind got so strong yesterday! Then surprise of all surprises the sun came out!

Project I worked on yesterday was scanning old photos I took out of photo albums.... Kristen in 1967 and '68. This is me, Kristen, and my little dachshund Heidi at Mom and Dad's house 1968:

The rains in California have flooded "my town", the town of Maxwell on I-5, between Sacramento and Redding...

Historically this date
1885 – The newly completed Washington Monument is dedicated.

1974 – The last Israeli soldiers leave the west bank of the Suez Canal pursuant to a truce with Egypt.

1975 – Watergate scandal: Former United States Attorney General John N. Mitchell and former White House aides H. R. Haldeman and John Ehrlichman are sentenced to prison.

1995 – Steve Fossett lands in Leader, SaskatchewanCanada becoming the first person to make a solo flight across the Pacific Ocean in a balloon.

And births this date include...
1927 – Erma Bombeck, American humorist (d. 1996)

1934 – Rue McClanahan, American actress (d. 2010)

1946 – Tyne Daly, American actress

1955 – Kelsey Grammar, American actor

Perfectly timed. (thanks Vivia!)

Later dinner was Omaha Steaks Sole Almondine baked and steamed then air fried veggies with a drizzle of olive oil .....  I really like the vegetables this way, tender enough but with a little "fried" crunch.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday.Ciao.

Sticky bun day? That sounds like a nice diversion.

Look at your long legs... Jerry Maxwell never stood a chance.

I have a rancher friend down here who is quite concerned for friends affected by flooding. California really does need to get its arms around water is a precious resource, manage it better.

Sue, I didn't realize Kristen was older than John, III. Today he is 48 born in 1969. Do you feel old yet?? LOL I sure do! John reminded me that if we had had him a year after we married he would be 53. Our son nearly a senior citizen!!! :(
You looked so young and cute on your bike with your baby on the back.

I had no idea parts of California were so under water. Well at least our drought is over but too much of a good thing all at once.

mmmmm I love veggies too but I like them el dente or raw. They are my go-to-snack between meals. :)
