Fog/Rain ~ Medford Appt ~ Costco ~ George Washington's Birthday ~ Trish's Special Day

Good 35º foggy morning. Since yesterday we got another 1/2" of rain.

Yesterday I left out of here wayyyyy too early, but had a doc appointment in Medford.

Got that over, and by the way, all is good. I had a fasting test so no coffee or tea or food in the morning. I was STARVING!!! I read that coffee on the weekend is "recreational" but on weekdays it's "medicinal" !!! Boy, when you are used to having it and don't get any, wow!
I had a nice chat with a man in the waiting room. On the TV an OLD show was playing, Perry Mason! I couldn't hear the sound, but they showed a view of the LA Co Hall of Justice. That got my attention, then I saw Raymond Burr and Barbara Hale,
I commented about remembering that because I was old! He laughed and asked how old I was. I said 71. He said, you're still a kid and I thought he was going to tell me he was way older. Not. He said he was 69. Then we chatted. He had been a medic in Viet Nam, Army 1st Infantry. He had been exposed to "agent orange" (
which had caused him to have both hips replaced and a pacemaker in his heart. Anyway, nice man. Very crippled. Sad.

Then I went to Costco...
Hadn't been for a while so needed EVERYTHING (paper towels, TP, Kleenex, chicken stock, lemon juice)! I also got a quiche (these come 2 to a package...) You can microwave them or cook in the oven. Last night I cooked the spinach artichoke one.

I wanted the Harvest Creek pulled pork again, but they didn't have any so got the Chicken in Buffalo Sauce...

Sounds great and would make super tacos or taquitos, a sandwich, or a wrap! Will let you know.

Today is the 22nd .... George Washington's birthday. This is the day Brian was "due". We had a big earthquake in So. Cal in 1971 on February 9th, called the Sylmar Earthquake. That prompted Brian to show up early... on the 14th and not wait for the 22nd! So, doesn't matter, he was destined to be born on a "special day" ... like his sister Kristen (Halloween baby!)

Historically this date....
1959 – Lee Petty wins the first Daytona 500.
1980 – Miracle on Ice: In Lake Placid, New York, the United States hockey team defeats the Soviet Union hockey
team 4-3.
1997 – In Roslin, Scotland, scientists announce that an adult sheep named Dolly has been successfully cloned.
And births this date include...
1732 – George Washington, First President of the United States (d. 1799)
1857 – Lieutenant-General Robert Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell, British soldier, author, and founder of the Scout movement (d. 1941)
1889 – Olave Baden-Powell, English founder of the Girl Guide (d. 1977)
1907 – Robert Young, American actor (d. 1998)
1932 – Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy, American politician (d. 2009)
1934 – Sparky Anderson, American baseball manager (d. 2010)
1944 – Robert Kardashian, American lawyer (d. 2003)

1962 – Steve Irwin, Australian herpetologist (d. 2006)

1975 – Drew Barrymore, American actress
She can't seem to stay married.

So, I heated the quiche in the oven. It was really really good. Will enjoy the rest of it.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Hump Day. Ciao.

National Margarita Day (Just for you Trish! ♥)

LOL I had my giant Margarita on Sunday night celebrating John III's birthday at Red Lobster. It's called a Lobsterita. YUM!

Funny about Brain being due on the 22nd but arriving on the 14th. John, III was due on the 14th but didn't arrive until the 21st. lol Eric also arrived one week after his due date. The twins were two weeks early which is normal for twins.

After your lab work didn't you stop for coffee and a bite to eat somewhere? Funny how we are addicted to caffeine and if we don't get it then the headache comes on. :(

Glad all went well!

Well, glad you had a maggie, but you need one today too T!!! Funny about Brian and Eric's due dates! After the lab test I went straight to Costco. Got a bag of their Parmesan bagels and opened it and ate one while shopping! OINK. xo

That margarita looks GOOD. But bet it isn't recommended with antibiotics... so glad for rain coming to fill this rain check.
