JULY! ~ Bovine Etc. ~ My Apples ~ Walden Farms Mayo ~ Crunchmaster Crackers ~ Tom Turkey ~ Pupusa For Dinner ~ Scott Edson ~ Canada Day

Good 53º clear sunny morning.

It was warmer yesterday than Wednesday. Up to 90º by 2pm and topped out at 91º by 3pm.

HOLY COW, er,   SACRED BOVINE ... it's July already!!!

Speaking of bovine... my pal Laura Kath, Greece/Turkey traveling compadré, said she loved cows and and she also said, "Here's a question I've been pondering lately in my not so spare time . . . if cows are bovine, horses are equine, dogs are canine, cats are feline, pigs are porcine - are there any other species with names ending in - ine? Not a trick question, I'd love the answer!" So I found the page... http://beef2live.com/story-animal-words-end-ine-like-bovine-0-105444

Now this cracks me up. Sometimes we don't learn until we're 'older' and this got me to laughing... a donkey is an "assinine".... so, if you're a Democrat...

that must mean you are assinine! LOL!!!!!

Actually on that site they spelled the donkey name wrong, it's not assinine, it's asinine!  But close enough...

Yesterday was play on the computer day (reading emails and looking up stuff), paying bills day, vacuuming day, and picking apples day....
My little tree has a few. The ones left the deer didn't eat!

These apples are similar to Granny Smiths. They are not quite as hard and have a little tang. Good!

Breakfast was one more of the Asian Chicken wraps from Costco. I got out a couple of the new mayonnaise jars... the Sweet & Spicy and the Pomegranate and on alternating bites put some of each on the wrap...

This mayonnaise is sugar free, fat free, and calorie free. Made by Walden Farms in NJ.

You can buy directly from them or from

These are the rice crackers I get at Costco. SUPER crunchy. Cholesterol Free. Low in saturated fat. Gluten free.

All day I wanted to water out back but this Tom would not leave. He stood or laid in the shade all day. Guess he was comfortable so I didn't disturb him. Watered after dark when he left....

Dinner was steamed broccoli, a boneless skinless chicken thigh, a sauteéd cheese filled pupusa. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pupusa  I topped the chicken thigh and the pupusa with Blackberry BBQ sauce.

OMGOOOOOOD!!!

Then it was chair, wine, and TV. Watching the NY News with Lester Holt and they were talking about police presence in major cities and on comes this LA Co Sheriff Chief, Scott Edson! I was blown away. "Scotty Waddy Do Da" was another one of "our kids". He was an intern at Temple back in the late 70's and like Skrnich (Skrndog), Smail (Snail), & Forbus (The Buses) we loved him! Great guy AND now he's a CHIEF!!! OMGOSH!

This 13 second clip has very low volume, so turn up your speakers.....
I called Forbus and got Scott's phone number. We had a super good chat!!! Been years!!! Awww... so good talking with you Scotty!!! xoxo

All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

Canada Day is a celebration of Canadian nationalism, heritage and pride. Canada became self-governing on July 1st, 1867, with the passage of the British North America Act (BNA Act) in the British Parliament. The holiday was originally known as "Dominion Day". It was changed to Canada Day by the Canadian Parliament on October 27, 1982.

Did you know? The U.S. and Canada share the largest un-defended border in the world.
