Good 49º wispy cloudy morning. Predictions for
rain..
OMGOSH, it's FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!
Date When Celebrated : Occurs one to three times a year, when the
13th of the month falls on a Friday
2015: February, March, November
2016: May
2017 January, October
Are you superstitious? Then, Friday the 13th is a day you may look forward
to with fear! Friday the 13th, is an unlucky day, a day when bad things can
happen. Whatever you do, don't walk under a ladder, and don't let a black cat
cross your path on this day.
Throughout most of recorded history, the number 13 has been seen as an
unlucky number. If you live in fear of the number 13, you suffer from
Triskaidekaphobia. More phobias of
interest.
Historically, and perhaps a bit oddly in today's world, Friday has been
viewed as an unlucky day of the week. We find this hard to fathom. After all,
Friday is TGIF!! However, in days gone by, when you put the unlucky day of
Friday, together with the unlucky #13, many people believe only bad things can
happen.
Interestingly, there is a sizable number of optimists, who embrace Friday
the 13th and the number 13. They shrug off the superstition and go buy lottery
tickets with the number 13 in it.
Perfectly timed photo!

I can
certainly understand why all 3 of his wives divorced him, but what I don't
understand is why they married the creep in the first place! Money?
Fame?
Yesterday was a busy day. First I had a mammo. Two girls were in the room
with me, one was in training. Both super sweet and Republicans! We had a fun
conversation and I told them about my pal, Trish, who has been selected to be a
delegate at the Republican National Convention! Her son Daryl was picked to be
an alternate. They were very excited about that. Next I went to Costco. I had
a ginormous list! Brian wanted me to get him a float...
It's really nice and will hold 5 or 6 people. He's going to get an anchor
for it. They will take it up to Roseburg this summer. High school friends Linda
(Watterlond) and Joe Terror have a place up there on the South Umpqua River and
have told them they can stay there. The river is calm, so a good place for a
float!
So I got all the stuff on my list, all the stuff on Brian's list, and most
all the stuff on Jennifer's list. Was going to stop at In-N-Out to get my dinner
to go, but it was getting late and Jennifer left work soon so I had to get there
to deliver her "stuff". Fortunately I picked up a Costco Asian Chicken Wrap and
had that to munch!
They used to have the Shrimp Wraps, but don't anymore. DARN!
After unloading my car I was totally exhausted. Chair, wine, chicken wrap,
TV, nap!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy TGIF. Ciao.

May 13th
International Hummus Day
International Hummus Day started from Hummus Day, a special event
launched by a young entrepreneur Ben Lang. He decided to make a holiday, that
could bring together all people from the Middle East and promote Israel. He
chosen it to be a food holiday, hummus in particular, because it's very popular
in Middle Eastern cuisine.
The observance was started in 2012 and it spread to many other countries.
However, the origin of this day is in Israel, where the most famous hummus
place, Abu Gosh, gave out free hummus for all day long.
Annually around 85,000 people participate in celebration of International
Hummus Day by eating hummus at home or going to locations, where hummus is
served. They also share photos in Instagram and tweet about Hummus Day using
hashtag #hummusday.
Here are some great hummus recipes....
I like making hummus and often will pesto in it. Any flavors you like will
work. Even Sriracha!
Here is a blog of mine from 2013 where I made three kinds of hummus.... all
GOOD!!!

Not a hummus fan. I guess it's because I don't care for garbanzo beans but I love the looks of your chicken wrap! Sorry you couldn't get your In & Out dinner. What a treat that would have been for you since you don't have one near by.
Nice you told the ladies about my July trip to the convention. Daryl and I are sure looking forward to it. Hope baby Alexander doesn't decide to arrive early! He's due the last of July. IF that were to happen I would have to drag John kicking and screaming with me! LOL
XO Trisha
If Alexander arrives early, there is a reason. xo
GOOD morning. LOVE hummus. I laughed at the title on blog this morning. I thought maybe an officer saved RYAN Gosling.
Definitely need an infusion of coffee before I get on freeway):-
I'm very happy for Trisha. I hope any tears are happy tears- and they don't make her makeup run.
LOL Thanks Lydia but my makeup is waterproof. I buy that kind because sometimes my eyes tear up for no reason and when going in the pool I'd rather not come out looking like a raccoon! :)
