Good 43º sunny morning.
A little restaurant in Rogue River, The Station, closed. The building was
100 years old. It had great sandwiches and soup and you could dine outdoors in
the warm weather. The restaurant owners were renters in the building and the
building owners wouldn't do any maintenance, which got so expensive, the
restaurant closed, after 20 years!
On Saturday the fire department used it as a teaching aid in fighting fires
and it was basically burned inside.
Then Sunday it was burned to the ground.
Still smoldering...
If I put Dude in the back of my truck and go into a business or post office
or anything, he jumps to the front seat. So, I parked where he could see me
taking pictures across the street and opened the back window for him. He was
happy and stayed put!!!

GOOD morning. If only I could learn to love escargot, we would never starve. Not that it looks like that is a possibility anywho):-
How sad to see a beloved building burned. May its ashes end up feeding a garden.
I'm not anti- cosmetic surgery - but when the results are plastic- looking- that isn't fine artistry. It doesn't matter how much procedures total in cost- it simply isn't beautiful to look like a body that walked off the embalmers table.
Yes L, you are right about cosmetic surgery. I don't understand that beautiful people have this done and then look like hell!!! Even Kenny Rogers couldn't win a Kenny Rogers look-alike contest now!!! xo
Sue, thanks for the pics of The Station. Glo. John and I lunched there after we visited your spread and had the tour in your cart. :) So much fun to see everything up close....love, loved your porches, kitchen and collections. :)The food at the Station was great....ambience "special" and we like old buildings. We also discovered the Rogue River Blue Cheese at Ray's as well as the is it Umpqua Ice Cream? John and Glo read your blog every day....we have soooo many memories from my trip up there. All the tips you gave us were A plus and then some. :) Edda
Yes, E, Umpqua is a local Oregon dairy.
