Crab Dip ~ Clean Up/Clean Out Day ~ Strange Business Names ~ Sally Harper ~ Asparagus & Reruns ~ Clean Up Your Room Day

Good 37º clear sunny ice on the barn roof morning. Should be warm and sunny until about Saturday, then rain expected again.
Crab Dip....

14oz pkg imitation crab meat
1 cup mayonnaise
2½-3 teaspoons Mrs. Dash Extra Spicy Seasoning Blend
Mix it all together and refrigerate until ready to serve. May be garnished with chopped chives and serve with your favorite crackers.

This shared by Ike... LOL, this can't happen to us!

     'I CAN HEAR JUST FINE!'

Three retirees, each with a hearing loss, were playing golf
one fine March day. One remarked to the other, 'Windy,
isn't it?' 'No,' the second man replied,
'it's Thursday.' And the third man chimed in,
     'So am I. Let's have a beer.'

Yesterday I was SUPER lazy. Didn't want to do ANYTHING! So, I went through a box of address and phone books sister Betty had sent me that were Mom and Dad's. Salvaged some things, others went in the trash. This is what I saved:

This was inside the Forest Lawn card....

Then I went through a box of stuff Brian brought up from the barn some time ago. (All was in my bedroom. Check the bottom of the blog to see what day this is.. I got a head start!) This box was a Christmas gift box from Bullocks in downtown LA. The sticker in the lid says it was from December 1963 and the sales clerk and it was a charge.

In the box were my report cards, letters to Mom and Dad from me, dance studio programs, Jobs Daughter programs, some pictures, pay stubs (a whopping $1.50 and hour jobs), and tax records.  I had a blast going through all this. Found my Driver's Training grade..... Whoot whoot... A in Driver's Training!! Mr. Kirk was a super nice guy/teacher!

Here are some hilarious business names:

Clean Up Your Room Day

Clean Up Your Room Day is a day parents eagerly await........... and kids dread!
If you've got kids, it is very possible that their rooms are a vast wasteland, completely filled with "good stuff". "Messy" is too kind of an adjective to describe the conditions. Its impossible to walk through the room. Every dresser and shelf (and under the bed), is packed with everything imaginable. Dust has been piling up as long as your child has been around. Comfy, cozy, and quite livable to the child, its an everyday source of frustration for the "folks".
To mom and dad's delight, and every child's chagrin, Clean Up Your Room Day arrives every May 10th. Get out the shovels. Call in an industrial sized dumpster. Its time for everyone to clean your rooms!
Note to Kids: Clean Up Your Room Day also applies to your parents. You may want to inspect to assure that mom and dad practice what they preach!

Yes, I cracked up at the business names. Very creative.

What a treasure trove of memories you went thru. Fun. Your mother passed away two months after my dad. Of course mother and I flew back to Arkansas for the funeral then had lots of business with the attorney after that. Time flies!

Today I will tell Matthew to clean up the toys on his floor and make way for the cleaning lady to clean his room tomorrow. :)

I did not know about the grenade thrown at GW. God as certainly watching over him!

Oh I am sorry. I saw the name "Leslie" and just thought of your mom. My dad passed away on Feb. 1, 1991. He was born March 2, 1918. They were both from the South too. Glad your dad led a good happy life. My dad had a sad one but I think he was happy where he was.
