Good 49º cloudy morning.
Yesterday I met up with Brian, Jen, Tucker, Sami, and Jean. We drove to
Galice, north of us here on the Rogue River. We had brunch at the Galice
Resort Restaurant..Thank you Brian and Jen!!! xoxoxo
We sat on the deck overlooking the river....
More pictures later...
Had a call from Kristen, Alex, and Jack. Her most recent chemo was Friday,
a smaller dose. By yesterday she was feeling good enough they all went to brunch
and was In-N-Out for dinner!! Yeah Kristen!!! Here they are at brunch:
I had a text message from my Italian son, Alex. He told me he loved me and
wished me Happy Mom's Day. He sent along a photo of his "day of golf"
yesterday!
When we got back to Brian and Jen's house, Brian sent him a selfie of he and I and I asked him what hole he was on. He replied, "19th hole" !! LOL. That is a golf term for those of you who don't know, it means the bar.
I got this egg poacher at the market the other day...
The first time I tried it I cooked one egg for 50 seconds. It came out with
the yolk hard like hard boiled. So I tried it again using two eggs and
microwaving for 1 minute, let sit 2 minutes. The eggs came out better with
softer centers...
Next time will be 45 seconds for two eggs. I like the yolk sorta runny. The
directions only go up to 750 watt microwave ovens, and mine is 1250 watts.
Practice practice~
The good thing, it's easy peesey, add a teaspoon of water, puncture the
yolk with a knife, and microwave.
And here's the TRUTH, shared by Lynn Helbing (LASD ret). Thanks Lynn!
And some GREAT news.... pal Dan Cermak, Floor Mgr at our Ace Hardware, his
and Nancy's daughter Elizabeth won MISS ROGUE RIVER!!!
Wow! Congratulations Elizabeth! Way to make your parents over the top
proud!!!!

I recorded the Kentucky Derby on Saturday and watched it later. What a
race! It was heart-pounding. That horse Nyquist is awesome! No losses. Wow.
The recorded show was 3½ hours long. I skimmed through a lot of it... 3
races... the first being the 2 year olds, the second being the "turf race" (on
grass), and the third was the derby race. Lots of fashion shots. How to make
mint juleps. And lots of commentary.
When I got home yesterday afternoon Dave and PJ were up here. They had a
gift for me, for feeding their fish and looking after their place while they
were gone to Quartzsite all winter. They said I had to "find" the gift, it will
be noticeable when the wind blows, and they left! Well, dang! I found it... a
wind vane...
The top and the bottom spin separately when the wind blows. So cool!!!

Later I was not in the cooking mood so dinner was:
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

It looks and sounds like you have a very nice Mother's Day. Your kids all look great.
My friend in Diamond Bar who owns horses flew to the Kentucky Derby. She posted pics of herself wearing a beautiful lavender hat and dress. I will send you the pics.
Congrats to the very pretty Elizabeth for winning the Miss Rogue River title. What an honor!
Love your "Hope n Change" photos! Wouldn't that be a hoot!!
Think I will get one of those microwave poachers. Handy for eggs Bene.
Your weather vane is lovely. What a perfect gift for you.

Yes, Mother's Day was perfect! Weather was so so good. 77 degrees, sunny, nice! Thanks re Elizabeth. A pretty girl indeed! I really like the easy way to poach eggs. Yes, T, for eggs Bene it is perfect! xoxoox
GOOD morning. Love the garden spinner. Kinetic art make wonderful scare crows in small gardens.
Do you have a temp control on microwave? If so, we've found 3/4 power is better than full blast for lots of foods.
Thanks L for the microwave info. xo
