Weather ~ Sami's Birthday at Taprock ~ Andy & Linda ~ 2 Year Old Rocks ~ Crab Cakes & Risotto

Good 36º gloomy foggy morning! No rain predicted for here today, but got another 1/4" yesterday. We'll see..... Kristen said it's thundering and lightening and raining down there in So. Cal! Have fun driving, Californians!!!

Yesterday was a breakfast for Sami's birthday at Taprock. Some blue sky showing through over Caveman Bridge...

Sami's favorite breakfast... ham, waffle with whipped cream and chocolate chips, fruit, and an 'crushed Oreo & cream cheese brownie' ! I asked Brian what they are called and he said, "Heaven" !!! They ARE GOOD!!!

Tucker also loves the waffles with whipped cream, fruit, a biscuit,  sausage, and the 'Oreo cream cheese brownie' !

I had my favorite, vegetarian omelette (fresh spinach, Swiss cheese, zucchini, cremini mushrooms, tomato, garlic, and onion topped with Hollandaise sauce) with fruit and a blueberry muffin. Also had a mimosa!

Sami was happy with her yoga mat and loved the singing Teddy.

She named him "Bob". Bob the Birthday Bear! I also got her an iTunes gift card and a wooden "briefcase" filled with art supplies.
Coming back home the drive was beautiful.

Didn't last all that long, buy afternoon it was dark and cloudy and gloomy again and sprinkles!

Today is a special anniversary, my BFF Linda and Andy Nantz, he was in the Marines with Jerry, are celebrating their 52nd Anniversary. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KIDS!!!

Thank John Anderson (LASD ret) for sharing ...

My dinner last night was crab cakes on spinach and risotto....

The dressing for the spinach and to top the crab cakes was made with mayonnaise and lemon juice...

   SUPER GOOD!!!

National Crown Roast of Pork Day

You certainly must be kidding, right!? National Crown Roast of Pork Day... Why you ask?

Well, frankly, I do not know. And, why not just Roast Pork Day? Why does it have to be a crown roast pork?

What we do know, is that it is National Crown Roast of Pork Day, a special day to cook and eat pork. To participate in this day it must be crown roast pork. Any other just will not do.

Have a great day!

Funny. We are having a pork sirloin roast for dinner tonight. No crown for us. :(

Boy, Sami is having several birthday parties. What fun and your gifts were wonderful. Breakfast looked amazing.

I have met Lynn Swann several times. The first time was when Kevin and I attended GW's second inauguration in DC. We went to a ball that night and he was one of the speakers. The second time was at a prayer breakfast in Anaheim. Afterwards I was sitting outside when he walked by to get into his limo. We chatted for a minute. Nice guy.

Sounds like Lydia had a bad time in the rain storm this morning on the way to LAX. UG.

Lovin the rain here.

That is funny you are having pork roast for dinner!! You picked the right day, T !!! Haven't read about Lydia's day yet. So glad you are getting the rain I worked so hard at blowing your way!!! xoxo

Thank you Sue! :) We need all the rain we can get. Not only that, there is a 50% shut down in our area for water for the next couple of weeks. We have been asked to conserve better than ever. Glad the rain filled our pool as that isn't allowed right now.

I know, I heard about the water conservation and how it's so hard on everyone. Plus, your rates are going up. Joy. xo
