Good 37º cloudy morning. Looks like no rain for a couple days, here
anyway...
We actually got some sun for a bit yesterday and it warmed to 50º. Not long
after that it was POURING again!!! Then the sun, then the wind, then more rain.
All day! What crazy weather. The wind blew hard so all the windows and doors were full of raindrops! Every time Dude and Bruiser went out they came back
in all wet. I thought for sure we'd get quite a bit in the rain gauge, but alas
only 1/4" !!
While I was working at my desk... I was being watched...
Got this from pal Ike Saben (LASD ret)... it's mind blowing. Don't blink as
you will miss something. I LOVED the baby monkey kissing it's mom!!
I was on the phone with DirecTV FOREVER! After doing what was suggested
with the unplugging the box and rebooting it... still nothing. So called again
and said I want a tech out here!!!! So, Thursday ....... the soonest. The gal I
was talking to was in Mississippi. Then I needed to talk to customer service
about the DTV website. Waited and waited some more. Then finally.... and got
that straightened out. The guy I was talking to about that was in the
Philippines!! ??????? So, I moved my chair from the living room to the dining
room where a TV works! Grrrrrr........ Dude is confused why I was in here since
"his couch" is in the living room! Bruiser didn't care, he slept on my lap
anyway!
LOL:
This was my Maggie's birthday... 1999. She passed in 2013. Still so missed
every day! She was a Scottish McNab. She had red hair, my mom was Scottish and
had red hair, ergo... her name Maggie (Mom's was Margaret!)
....doing her favorite thing with Jerry as a puppy and loved it throughout
her life....
... and with Alex......
Historically this date....
The Ides of March (Latin: Idus Martii
or Idus Martiae) is a day on the Roman
calendarthat corresponds to March 15. It was marked by
several religious
observances, and
became notorious as the date of the assassination
of Julius Caesar in 44 BCE.
...............see, even my dog was born on a special
day!
1916 – President Woodrow
Wilson sends 4,800
United States troops over the U.S.-Mexico
border to pursue Pancho
Villa.
1985 – The first Internet domain
name is
registered (symbolics.com).
2011 – Beginning of the Syrian civil
war.
And births
this date include....
1767 – Andrew
Jackson, 7th President of the United States (d.
1845)
1941 – Mike
Love, American musician (The Beach
Boys)
1970 – Derek
Parra, American speed skater
1975 – Eva
Longoria, American actress
Like Brian said and I agree, quit whining over daylight savings time!!! It
happens EVERY year! Get over it. It's just an hour!!! Here is the history behind
it....
Dinner, another concoction. Brown rice, Tabouli, asparagus,
spinach...
The rice was cooked in the rice cooker. The asparagus steamed with olive
oil and a little water and garlic salt. Everything mixed together along with
fresh spinach.
Boneless skinless chicken thigh went into the pan to heat...
Some fresh tomatoes and Sriracha mayonnaise on the chicken...
I like Tabouli. It's ingredients include: bulgar wheat, parsley, onion, sea
salt, citric acid, garlic, canola oil, lemon .... mix it in a bowl with 1½ cups
hot water and 1/3 cup olive oil. Mix and let sit for an hour. Refrigerate if you
are going to eat it cold as a salad.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

National Agriculture Day
National Agriculture Day is a salute to American Agriculture and everyone
who plays a role in it.
According to the Agricultural Day
website, the purpose of National
Agriculture Day is to "celebrate
the abundance provided by agriculture".
Every year, producers, associations, universities and other groups
recognize and celebrate the contributions of agriculture.
On this day:
Spend a little time to better understand agriculture.
Learn about how food is produced and distributed
Encourage people to enter agriculture as a career.
Eat well today. As you do, think about all that goes into bringing the food
you eat to your table.
The date of this special day can vary. It is often, but not always on the
first day of
spring.

May the sun shine and warm you.
May the reception issue be resolved quickly and forever.
We had a Maggie- an English Spriner Spaniel. Turned out my dad had a Maggie, too. His first wife. Which is why my mother never warmed to that name (we didn't know).
Thank you for letting me know it is American Agricultural Day. As a career- so much has changed in our lifetime. God be with those who grow the food which makes it to our tables- and beyond.
My nephew and his wife have a Maggie now too. Popular name!!! xo
Yes, thank you to the farmers who grow our food. That photo reminded me of my cousins who work constantly it seems out in the fiends. Cousin Meredith sits up in the combine or on a big tractor working as hard as her hubby. I have sent you all photos of her on that big equipment.
I have wondered about day light savings time. Now when time to get Matthew up at 6:30 it's pretty dark still so we have to turn on lights. Before we moved the clocks it was light out that early. It just stays light longer in the evenings. I have never had any trouble getting used to it. Just have to keep an eye on the clock for starting dinner so Matthew won't be late to Taekwondo.
Happy Birthday Maggie! Bruiser tickles me sitting in that box. :)
XO Trisha
One thing about DST, I sleep til 7 now instead of 6! YES!!! It's the cat who wakes me up when it gets light. I don't need to get up at 6. This is great. Thanks T. xo
